  1. Lacassine hijacked thread. I love it
  2. I don't need really Anything right now. I've been looking for the cavitron though. Can't seem to find a place around here that has them. @Catt any ideas?
  3. Hard cover and changes in bottom contour is what I figure up they're laying in. Could be wrong but if most grass has died in the marshes doesn't seem like their could be anything else
  4. I fish calcasieu river on fourth of July. One thing I can tell you and it's been consistent here all summer, deeper outside banks with cuts. They sit at the mouth of the cuts on the drop offs cruising up and down. In your case I don't know what the fishery looks like but deeper outside banks usually hold fish. Easy to cruise deep to shallow Also I say this cause you have shallow cover to pin against but within a few feet it usually turns to 15 foot
  5. I've kinda been looking at these
  6. Not gonna lie I've done this before to make some wild colors and they worked. I actually have an area in my tacklebox for these baits
  7. First time I've seen pics of it. I agree it looks like it's north of i10 Louisiana bank. Nothing could've been done any better nor any worse by him. He did no wrong. It happens. Play the game you take the risk. Things that worry me @Catt on calcasieu I watch at least ten boats per weekend hauling north with 250. And when I say north I'm talking north of stack pole island north. I digress though. The incident I can honestly say in my opinion I don't think he was at fault. It's definitely wide enough in that area and pretty deep. If I had to take a guess on what happened though he hit one of those flats and the stump that came with it
  8. Calcasieu and sabine can both be dangerous once you get further north on them. Btw if any of you fish calcasieu, water is super low. Find myself slowing down way more than the usual and I run up north up there alot
  9. Backlashes aren't always a bad thing. More time for it to soak
  10. American legacy had some Dobyns DX hp models for under 300. With the 10 percent sign up discount I got a dx746 and tatula type r left for 380. Winner winner chicken dinner boys
  11. 12 pound abrazx 17 pound p line 100 percent fluoro. I fish lots of Cypress trees stumps and laydowns in a river system and find this perfect. But I still keep 65 pound braid on my 7'6 heavy dobyns savvy just in case
  12. I used a 765 fury for all of the above. Was able to pitch 1/8 oz weight all the way up to ounce and a quarter. Now I use a champ 735 for 1/8 to about 3/4
  13. Tell that to the guys that fished high school tournament with 180 boats lol. Mlf though is only a handful of boats
  14. I know, but I'd love to see them start on calcasieu, and stay from salt barrier north.
  15. Priorities, you're doing it right
  16. Would love to see them come fish calcasieu river. Doubt it will happen but oh man
  17. Welcome to the most expensive habit in the world. Is a 200 dollar combo necessary? No. But oh man is it nice
  18. I started when I was two. My grandpa knew every great white perch area on calcasieu river, even fished a few any fish tournaments actually placed 3rd at 9 years old with a 2 pound white perch. As I grew older about 13 I started bass fishing with my dad. I wasn't to in depth with it at that time so at 16 I stopped. I took a 11 year break. Me and my family were on rocky terms through most of my 20's. Then at 27 I started bass fishing again. My dad came over noticed a couple of rods and reels so he decided he was going to start fishing as well, bass fishing has literally restored my relationship with my family so when people ask why I'm so die hard about it, it's hard to explain but there's a big reason
  19. Cajun tackle and Cajun fast mart keep a small stock

  21. I live in Louisiana and have never heard of it but now my interest has peaked
  22. Place still gives me nightmares. There's a reason I only go once or twice a year. Lacassine " It sure ain't big burns" wildlife refuge
