I think you will like the 30. I use 20 and the knots do wonders on my hands. My friend uses 30 and ties 6 lb leaders for trout. The very thin lines less than 20 cut you very easy. You may want to get some knot rings if tying those thinner line's.
Is there a way to make a sticky poll post so people can vote and when this question comes up the poster will have all the info and options readily available. This is something that would be interesting to look at for me as well and would be a great resource for people looking to buy that next rod.
No need for a monster reel at or below 2oz. I would run an pre- tws zillion with 15-20 lb yo-zuri or p-line cxx. A dobyns 795 would be a good rod choice. If you want a round reel a Luna or Calcutta are both quality reels.
Spinning is invesx, sniper, or pline 100% in 6lb. Casting is p-line 15lb shooter, or abrazx. If you want to buy only one line I would recommend p-line 100%.
sounds like you need a set on your belt so there always at hand. Not enough room in my yak to be out of arms reach. I do have them hidden under the seat sometimes and that's a real pain.
What size are we talking here? I have caught a ton on the 4-5" keitech easy shiners and swing impacts. I am still hopeful to catch a Huddleston bass some day.
