  1. I use YHB in 10# for all my cranking and most of my soft plastics on smaller alphas reels. I have fished a lot of lines and I like it the best, the low price is just a great bonus.
  2. I use the mustad flipping hooks and they have the best bait keeper I have found. They came out with a finesse model with the same keeper that I have just bought so I will give it some time before I go and recommend them.
  3. I am close but western Washington.
  4. I was going to try and use very little weight or none t-riged. Most of the lakes here have a lot of veg and the bass seem to key on a slow fall. I will use my ledged 70mhf and 15 lb flouro and use the lightest weight to cast a good distance. Is a 5/0 ewg hook big enough???
  5. Not a brand I would get. I use p-line 100%, sniper, and seaguar flouro's.
  6. I have not been a big worm fishermen ever and I picked up a bag of these 11 inch ribbon tail worms in summer craw. The lakes around here are very clear so I figured that this was a more natural color. So what should I know about the big worm???
  7. what a cool project. Along for the ride. Custom grips is something I don't see a lot of and wish there was someone close enough to teach me.
  8. stop buying jigs that weren't exactly what I wanted and started buying Serbert no looking back
  9. I love there gill colors. I get a ton of action on the natural bream color.
  10. Try a weightless creature bait like a baby brush hawg or a 6" lizard. Cast it out and wait. Most of the time you will get bit on the fall like a stick bait. Then if no luck slowly drag it back and repeat. When I say drag I mean slowly with the rod not reeling in. Make lots of pauses.
  11. sounds like a loose side plate. I had this issue with a different reel and tightening the reel made things worse. I ran the side plate screws down and things were back to normal.
  12. 1.0 kvd bluegill square bill.
  13. It has most to do with shock. When you set the hook the peak pressure on the line will snap it quick. The speed of the rod will have a lot to do with how light you can go safely. I use 65 because I like it. Could you get away with a lot less most likely. Some people claim that you need up to a 100lb for punching in the delta. I don't think I would ever need that so I don't.
  14. I use daiwas and have all but one in the 6.3. Never had any issue and they work just fine. Everyone has there preference but I use my steez 100hl for pitching on my ledged elite.
  15. They are a deep cycle battery company. When I was looking for a battery for my yak to be very powerful and reliable this is the company I was going with. The only other major company would be interstate. For the price I think it may be a bang up deal. Born on date does not mean a huge amount as batteries live in number of cycles. The life will directly depend on if you have a powerful enough charger.
  16. I also fish from a yak and am looking at getting the megabass XX perfect pitch. It is only 7'2" and fits the requirements your looking for, I planed to use it for jigs frogs and small swim baits. I fish and like Croix as well and mix in some dobyns as well.
  17. Matt allen guides there and he is a ledged to me. If I had the opertunity there is no doubt that's what I would be doing. To locate him try tactical bassen *
  18. I would not walk away from the frog as a big fish option. I have caught some great fish on a frog and seen some monsters caught on them. The reason I feel there so good is the amount of nasty cover you can get threw. Up size the frog if you are looking for a bigger bite. if you get nothing then downsize again. First find if there on the frog and go from there. Big is not always best and bill simatel has a great video on swim baits. He basically he says fish them for an hour or so and find if that bite is on, if not switch to something else. I am in an area where small baits work best and a 4" worm catches them all.
  19. If your jig fishing with anything other than braid then the extra speed may help your hook set. Some people go nuts and find the fastest rod and then use braid but not this guy. The xfast rods IMO work well with flouro and I use mine for dropshot.
  20. Leader material is much harder and abrasion resistant. I use seaguar blue label. If your only using a short section line management is not important, so paying big dollars for that characteristic seems funny.
  21. Frogs are a great choice for big fish but the will also be a great time if that monster takes a while. I fish a lot of jigs and pitch plastics. Craws and hogs are great choices. If you are trophy hunting then swimbaits might be the ticket.
  22. Big bites cane thumper worms Zoom supper hawg Mustard danny brower flippen hooks Tungsten worm weights.
  23. A lot of gun cleaners. Might want to be careful with those.
  24. Only as complicated as you let it be. Try using only 5 baits. It will be a real challenge and way cheaper.
  25. Keitech 4"easy shiner worked like a fluke or dead sticked. Picked up a few on the swim back. Second bait is a 4" cane thumper worm in watermelon red flake. Western Washington is super clear and tough. Guy in a tube was doing very well on a dropshot and 4" worm in watermelon.
