  1. Brand between daiwa and shimano is preference. Line speed the combination of gear ratio and speed will take a mental adjustment if being used for the same technique.
  2. I take a medium xfast or mhf.
  3. I have the crappie but yet to throw it. Planned on using it as a bed bait rigged weedless with an owner beast 4/0. A good scent like megastrike is supposed to extend their life a lot.
  4. First choice is lucky craft. I also am trying to thin out and I plan on keeping them and kvd baits.
  5. 4/0 is the largest I found also. Might consider something like lthis http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Mustad_Fastach_Worm_Weight/descpage-FOW.html
  6. Don't know if it does come with a bearing but would think if it did it would be a daiwa bearing like out of a steez. Never seen an rcs branded bearing bUT it may be a thing.
  7. I had not considered a low kayak skill as a reason to not weAR an inflatiron vest. That should be taken into account. I have never rolled my nucanoe in the 10 years I have owned it. I stand a lot and never fallen out. It would be rather expensive to run an inflatable if going in the water is a regular thing. Great counter point and we'll worth considering.
  8. Now a life jacket is a piece of life saving gear and I buy the best. When I raced motorcycles I bought 800 dollar helmets 2000 dollar leathers and 300 dollar boots. All a waste of money until you lay the bike down over a hundred miles an hour get up and walk away, with no skin missing. I fish 3-5 days a week and am a stong swimmer. I put on my Mustang inflatable with hit every time. My biggest worry is being hit by someone else. If you don't believe there is a thread on here about a boat hitting another boat you should watch a few times....
  9. The mustad grip pin hook in 4/0 is money. I normally fish owner only but this hook is amazing. http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Mustad_Denny_Brauer_Grip_Pin_Max_Flippin_Hook_5pk/descpage-MGPEH.html
  10. That's NoT HoW This works. That's not how any of this works.
  11. Seems like a triangle like the trokar.
  12. 1/4 lite wire hook mxf 3/8 ths and above mhf.
  13. Owner welded snap 33lb
  14. This list is mostly accurate but could be simple. Trebles snap single hook tie direct. That's how I roll.
  15. You could add a slide swimmer 175. Got two on the bay for less than 50 each.
  16. Don't own or fish either. Keeping it real fishing did a review on all the common glides. In the 100 bracket for glides I chose a pizz drift. https://pizzcustoms.com/online-store/
  17. Well I guess the 7.9 that sits on the shelf still missed the mark
  18. I live and breathe 6.3. I have faster ones but don't use them.
  19. I don't care that they are a sponsor, and I fished Seibert before I joined here. I would say that his jigs are the best at any price. I fish setups that are very spendy and if I thought there was a better product I would get those. His jis are top knotch and very well priced, it also helps he is a good dude and has great service. I don't get paid and I am not on his pro staff, wish I was
  20. Bottom contact lures are the worst for me. Any air movement and it gets a lotime harder in a hurry. A jig is the worst, as it needs to be felt to detect a bite while they just swim off with the worm.
  21. I was a boy scout and sucked at knots. The Alberto is my connection knot as the double uni is two knots and takes twice as long to tie. If you learn the uni it is a good connection and terminal knot in one. I terminal withe the Palomar and those are the only two I use or know now.
  22. Matt lures hard gills are first choice and his soft gills are also amazing.
  23. The moderate fast would be better for the treble baits and the fast would be better for the a rig and single hook swim baits like keitechs battles shade and Matt lures soft gills. If you are fishing jig hook baits and plan to power them to the boat the heavier rated rod will help with that. F5 makes swim bait rods fairly cheap for custom. Longer handles are your friend for using the rod to cast the heavier baits. Tactical has a bunch of information on rod selection and proper casting techniques for heavy baits. I bought a used dobyns 806 and that's my main big bait rod.
  24. Well the battles shad seems to have a lot of magic believers. But really stick to the tried and true baits. Slamers, hard gills, huddlestons, swaivers. All the ones I listed are reasonably priced. More is not better and you may choose one good bait that matches your forage after you have some time in and decide on the one. I went with a pizz shadly. It might be the cheapest option as the phoney, hinkle and others are quite a bit more. Check out keeping it real fishing on YouTube and he has a great perspective imo.
  25. These guys are different to me and are a real brick and morter store. I got two rods from them and some other stuff and have never had issue. Everyone has a different ebay experience so you do have to go with your gut. I have never been burned but my dad has several times. There is risk in everything.
