  1. Something with a v spool. Tdz with 100m spool, alphas, steez 103.
  2. Fun fishing it would not matter. If I was fishing for money I would give more if I won due to the boater. I hate that it has to be about money though as I do this to reduce stress.
  3. I also do a quick visual. The SK xd baits seem to have decent hooks. I find some people are very particular, I am more open.
  4. I like my 3701 also. I switched to a bass coffin after a year. I now have trout baits in my 3701.
  5. Why skimp on a life vest? This is the most important thing in the vessel to protect your life. That being said I prefer horse collar auto inflates. I put mine on before I launch and most of the time wear it home. Not that I forget its there, just no bother and I hang it up to dry for my next trip
  6. That matches with my on the water observations. I have not used but one centrifugal reel my Luna 300l so I would consider my observations lacking in that style of braking system. I believe most people stick with what they learn on and call it best. Both systems have to work well or one would be gone by now.
  7. The discussion about mag working only at low speed most does not work with variable inductors. They brake most at high speed because the mag influence is high and the inductor is deepest in the magnets.
  8. he said this in one of his videos. He changes a lot because its free and money is on the line.
  9. Back to breaking: your discussion seems most centered on fixed inductor's while there are springs and lateral movement of the inductor in most spools.
  10. From working 70 hours a week or more!
  11. Why do people say they live up north and love the seasons but hate winter. Why don't they just move south???
  12. I don't know why one braking system would be so much better than another. Are we really saying shimano is better to learn on because of there braking system? I am not afraid to say I like daiwa, but learning how to tune the braking system you reel has is very important and takes a little experience. The cheap black max from wally world was easy to tune and worked OK after a little clean and lube. Facts and opinions are part of the game but should not be used interchangeably. The lews speed spool I used one time was so solid I did nothing to it all day and handed it back after the day was done. I don't have any but they seem very solid and easy to use.
  13. But that's still down stream
  14. You could grab a lightly used daiwa 153htsa for 40-50 bucks easy. They have a great mag brake system. Despite having some very high end gear I use mine still regularly for frogging. There a great tough as nails reel. Check TT for the full review. This was my first baitcaster.
  15. I have 3 avids a 66mf great for topwater and jerks a 66mhf I use for spinnerbaits and a 7mf I use for worms and light jigs. All are great rods. The 7mhf's are ltb and elite so I have a lot of there rods and I like them. I don't consider any of them broom sticks.
  16. I have both but the spool options are not available like the 103. Seen pixy gears in one to.
  17. Did I ever start modifying reels and think it would be cheap
  18. It has just begun. When you start modifying brand new out of the box steez reels to make them better or personalize, you have it bad.
  19. You may want to check out the Luna 103 in left hand. They can be modified and tricked out with a different spool as well. A little heavy but rock solid.
  20. Dropshot. This is the one area I believe it really matters. I use 6 lb sniper or p-line 100%. I have not tried the tautsu due to the additional cost. Found two lines that worked very well and stopped looking. I love and use a lot of yo-zuri in 10lb
  21. Not this guy gamy all day!
  22. Rc stx best value Lc pointer very popular and mid price Duo jerk's JDM quality and great bait not overly expensive. MB 110 to rich for me but beautiful!
  23. I like it just fine. I think the applicator is well thought out as well.
  24. If its just a mooreing point use concrete chain and a buoy. Is this something you plan to use on the move?
