  1. I've been using 15-pound Trilene Big Game for my 1/8-ounce Texas Rigs. I fish around trees and pretty heavy cover, and when I set the hook, I set hard. I only like using mono; I hate braid. The only problem is my Trilene keeps getting very frayed and breaks on me. So, I'm looking to buy some bulk 20-pound mono for my Medium Heavy Texas rig rod. My question is what brand of 20-pound bulk monofilament should I buy. I want a strong line that holds up to the abrasion around the trees. Thanks!
  2. What are some of the advantages of Copolymer over Monofilament? Out of these 2 lines, which one would you use for Jigs and T rigs?
  3. I have lilly pads on my river body and I have caught frog bass over them so I know there is some bass that holds in pads. However, I am really starting to get into punching and would like to punch these with worms and 1 ounce weights. Is punching lilly pads a good technique? Have you done it with good success?
  4. Anyone ever use this hook for flipping? They feel like a sharp hook...
  5. I have never been pitching and flipping before but I'm eager to learn and I'm going this week. What are some key things to remember as far as line set up? I will be pitching extremely heavy cover, canes and wood, with a 1/2 oz weight. I have 30lb mono. Will that work?
  6. I am looking for a rod around $100. I fish around wood and grass and want something around a MH but want a rod that is labeled as a frog Rod. Thanks.
  7. Today, I had 30 blowups on my tiny toad, h20 xpress 3/8oz hollow body frog in black color. However, I didn't hook even one of them! It was so frustrating. I got bites around wood and pads and could not hook the fish. Frustrating! My set up was a MH 7ft 6inch St Croix Rod with Abu Garcia Reel and 15lb Trilene Big Game Monofilament. I even gave the fish a second or 2 before I set the hook. The fish were plenty big enough too to eat the frog. Any ideas as to what could be going wrong?
  8. I need a reel for frogging. In this reel, I want it to be able to cast a mile with 30-50lb braid on there. That's the main thing I am looking for. Any recommendations around the $100 range?
  9. This is new line on the market, anyone ever use it? I am planning on using it for my frogs since it's black. Does anyone else know of any black-colored braid on the market? I am worried about the fish seeing my green braid and really want black braid.
  10. I am going punching soon in some thick grass. I am using a 7-6 flipping sick Heavy. I have some 30lb monofilament. Would this be too heavy to put on my low-profile Abu Garcia Revo reel? I don't like braid or Flurocarbon.
  11. Hi, I just picked up a 900yd spool of 15lb Steel Blue Trilene Big Game Monofilament yesterday for my Texas Rig worms in 1-10ft of water. My question is can the fish see the "blue tint color" in this situation? My water clarity is around 2-3ft of visibility. Thanks!
  12. Anyone ever used these rods?
  13. Anyone ever use this monofilament? How does the 15lb handle on baitcasters? I am looking to use it for my Texas-Rigs.
  14. I have never used this line. I am thinking of getting some in 15lb and using it for my 1/8oz and heavier Texas-rigged plastic worms. How does this line cast on a baitcaster? How is the strength? Thanks!
  15. I fished around rocks the other day with weightless worms using a M power rod and 12lb Seauguar Senshi Monofilament. I broke off at least 5 fish on the hook set, so I need heavier line. The line was extremely frayed as well. How heavy of monofilament should I use? Many disadvantages with heavier monofilament? Don't recommend Fluro or Braid, I don't like either of them.
