  2. I had one, 2000 series. got it off the mark down shelf at cabelas for 99$ i loved it, sold it in a bulk sale weeks ago, while liquidating spinning gear. very solid, strong sealed unit.
  3. second on the pvc pipe. I use 2", with a cap on one side and a screw out cleanout plug on the other, keep in mind the screw in plug can get tight, i also add some foam to the inside of the ends to cushion the ends of the rod.
  4. I also do not use a Mono Backer. I do however, use tape. I typically cut a section of gorilla tape the width of the spool center (varies on spools how wide, just dont crumple it up on the bevels) I will cut it half the length of the spool, i then double loop the braid and use a arbor knot, then use tape piece 2, over the knot and into the gap on the spool. this way i get full coverage, even base, and minimal line reduction becase of the tape. my favorite line is PP slick, I have used many others, and prefer slick mainly because of the surface smoothness and how it glides across the guides.
  5. Good good I have 2 of these rods now The 7' medium mated with the quantum tour MG100 20lb braid The 7'3" MH with a quantum exo PT 100 30lb braid So far I am really liking them
  6. Thank you , I'll check it out That Cabelas line is a flouro bonded braid Stiff and wiry Trading it out with some 30lb USA braid I have Smaller diameter and softer Plus it's orange lol
  7. First day in the lake with it Using 20lb Cabelas long cast (not impressed) Had to drag it through some tree tops and the rod held great Very sensitive and a good backbone The longcast line doesn't cast well It's a 20lb line that casts like 50 lol
  8. When I had mine this spring I threw 4" cut tail senkos weightless on a 2/0 on 15lb braid no issues Hoping the SV105 coming Monday will be able to do the same

  10. Quantum Tour MG CarrotStix Pro Grade TI 7' Medium (I know, I like it) The combo feels very good in hand, hope to get it to the lake tomorrow.
  11. Your right They have a horrible reputation based on the experiences with customer returns of damaged rods They have since taken new ownership, and have taken initiative to correct the issues that plagued the past company. recent buyers have had no issues with returns or contacting customer service. I just spooled up a quantum tourMg mounted on a CS pro Ti medium And I am extremely pleased so far
  12. Hello I've been searching for info and reviews on this line of rods but there's nothing. No reviews. No field tests. Nothing
  13. Hello again, I recently picked up a EXOPT as the title says and the tension knob is unlike any other. at the proper tension it feels like its going to fall off, lol. but then again, i am used to a Non-clicker knob and i guess thats how its supposed to feel. Dont judge me on the rod, its my shortest one, and makes threading the line easier for first spooling.
