  1. I am 31 but I have say 15+ 3600 plano boxes, about 4 three drawer filing cabinets, a sportsman trunk and a few tackle boxes full of just soft plastics. I have been at the point where I don't really run out of anything, so instead of buying what I need I can wait for some good deals to come my way and then make a large order saving a bunch of loot.
  2. Where do you find Kinami baits anymore? I thought they went out of business.
  3. Good to see you did well. I actually took a drive to my local DSG and they didn't even have any sales going on. They had a few yum money minnows but at regular price and then some random Rapalas on sale for like a $1.00 off. They had some live target crawfish cranks in a bin, but they were still $11.00 bucks. Disappointed but was able to get a bunch of new swimbait hooks for those yum money minnows I got coming in.
  4. So I have always been afflicted with the bait monkey disorder. Badly. Well, I have been buying more and more baits then ever before but more economically. For example, I take advantage of the TW 25 days of christmas sale. I also took advantage of the sebile buy one get one free sale not too long ago. I just saved $140 on yum money minnows through the dicks sale going on now. Now, I just bought 15 bags of plastics that cost about $2.00 a bag after including shipping from this fishog sale. I am going to need to build another garage to hide this loot...
  5. So I apparently did not complete the sale last night. I went to finalize the sale today and now the hitch color is all sold out, so who on here is responsible?! Enjoy.
  6. Hey everyone, someone on the forums posted a notice a few months back about a Sebille lipless cranks sale. I was able to utilize that sale to really grow my lipless collection into something formidable at a very reasonable price. Well, I was poking around the Dicks Sporting Goods website and saw that they have a good sale going on, with lots of BOGO or lures for $2.00. Usually the Havoc lines are on sale for $2.00, in the spring and they are part of this sale again. However, while perusing the website and not really finding any great deals I saw that the Yum Money Minnows were on sale for $2.00, down from their original price of $10.00. I couldn't pass this up as they work great on a keel weighted yum money minnow hook in my ultra clear waters in the N.E. These are a great find, as I can never find them on sale at all- never mind at this fire sale price. Plus, orders over $25 ship free. You can get a high quality and decent beginner swim bait selection for under $30.00.
  7. I use star torn fuel stabilizer with every fill up. I also regularly run marvel mystery oil in my oil and my gas to keep everything lubed up. I also use a complete fuel system cleaner like gum out or sea foam as well. I throw a lot of things in my gas tank, and it has never let me down.
  8. Threw spinner baits and cranks today. Not a bite.
  9. So I take my seats and seat posts out of the boat for storage. I am getting the boat ready for this weekend. Butt seat up front, regular seat on rear deck for my dad. The rear set post goes in. Locks down no issues. However it appears that the seat actually separated from the seat post. If you look at the seat, it has a cylinder attachment that should sit flush inside of the seat post and secure the seat. The cylinder attachment at the bottom of the seat has a lip that I cannot get inside the seat post. Is this something I can fix- or is this seat junk.
  10. Never had any luck with these when wacky rigging. Looked good and had good action just couldn't entice a bass.
  11. About 10 years ago when I was getting back into fishing (from my early childhood) I was given a 6 foot Ugly Stick MH ($40) and a quantum entry level spinning reel (approx. $50) and I thought that was the best set up money could buy. Well, I soon realized that this wasn't the case. But I used that combo for about 5 years as my go to rod, without fail. I still have that combo and it still works. It was a workhorse and very forgiving (i.e. hard to break/snap). Looking back, the only flaw I had with this was a soft plastic bite detection, but then again maybe it was my ignorance too.
  12. Fading top pro? Absolutely not. Has he peaked-maybe, but that is to be expected you can't be the best forever. I would never count this guy out- he is a fierce competitor. In the AOY standings last year he was 24 out of 113 of the best anglers in the world. Top 20% of the best 113 anglers in the country is a stat any of us would die to have. Regardless of what he does in the future, he likely has a marketing life of 30+ years before the newbies forget about him so I don't think his sponsors are going anywhere. Its the same reason Roland Martin and Bill Dance were/are still marketable names today.
  13. If the fish are active then that may be a good technique. I fish senkos a lot and do not think anything can beat fishing it weightless, wacky style.
  14. Rest against a butt seat as I get tired, lazy, or if I am in rough water.
  15. I dont have the stamina to do this. I know it takes only a few seconds, but I tried and didn't have it in me.
  16. Watermelon creme or green pumpkin. I could get by just fine with either of those two.
  17. I have a 2001 Ranger R81VS. It has a 150hp 2 stroke HPDI Vmax. I have owned this boat for 5 years without any issue with the motor. Starts up first turn every time, no rough idling, etc. I keep up with maintenance and exercise an entire fuel system clean regimen with every fill up.
  18. Ever since getting the Motorguide digital tour I would never go with a different brand. They have the variable speed which is a factor that can't be marginalized. With 5 speed motors you can really have a hard time finding the right speed for a given condition. Also, as mentioned above the digital motors have the ability to give you increased battery length. You need a trolling motor that is going to be able to give you power all day without changing batteries- these newer motors give you that ability. Not to mention, I am sure the steering mechanism have greatly improved. A brand new 82b thrust will give you plenty of added umph and is a modest investment at around $1000.
  19. If you don't like his products that is fine. But, to fault someone for pushing their product c'mon. Look at everyones jerseys they are all pushing some product, it is the name of the game. I like many of the anglers including Crews. He is very knowable about baits, hence the success of his Missle baits, and he is still an interesting dude, a somewhat toned down Ike. BTW love IKE too. Plus, last year he raised so much awareness and money for Autism, which is something I have never seen done in BASS prior. Im not saying you gotta like the guy, but don't hate him for peddling his wares, everyone does it.
  20. Huge Manning fan even living here in N.E. Don't get me wrong love the pats, but Manning sure was fun to watch. A high powered offense sure makes the game fun to watch and in their heyday, they could pass, run, and had a pretty good defense too. Wonder if that type of offense could ever be duplicated again.
  21. Why the hate for Crews? Who is by the way very good friends with Ike.
  22. 4" senko or small curls tail grub being swam on a jighead.
  23. Terminator T1. They aint cheap but they flat out catch them, especially in the bluegill patterns. Arkansas shad/shiner is the bst producer for me in my clear waters.
  24. For valentines Day the GF bought me the TRD and jig heads for the Ned Rig. She knew to buy me two of every color of everything, I trainer her well.
  25. This is my dilemma and I do not know anyone here solves it. If anyone has a good solution let me know. I will get a plano 3700 for new baits, techniques etc. Then I have to fill up the entire box because the empty space drives me nuts. So I buy more baits until the box is filled to capacity. Then the Box is full so I can't put any more baits in it. So I buy a second, a third, fourth box. I have 4 boxes of cranks and it is jam packed. I always need different colors, new baits, etc. I am beginning to realize that I dont need to compete with the guys on the Elite Series with their boats, electronics, rods, and baits. Maybe I will actually be able to put the monkey back in his cage.
