  1. Congrats on the huge buck. Your patience paid off big time. Gonna have to start calling you Sniper.
  2. I tried the Zakos as a spinnerbait trailer and they worked good. I was hoping for more tail action but the bulk made up for it.
  3. I fish the Horny Toad in summer, mostly in the early mornings and just before the sun goes down. Great bait but I throw it on an unweighted hook so I mostly throw it with spinning gear. At my local lake the weeds grow to the top and form mats. That is where I get most of my hits.
  4. Nope. I believe its a SK KVD Square Bill in neon bluegill.
  5. That's why I stick to cheaper baits like the Rapala Husky Jerk. Does the same job and less sadness when lost. Don't get me wrong, I still feel a twinge of remorse. Just not that much.
  6. I would try deeper and using slow moving baits like a jig or a creature bait. Also try smaller baits and dropshotting a bait. Just my opinion. As for me, I've moved on to dreaming about the spring. I might get one more shot at river smallies if it doesn't rain for the rest of October.
  7. Greetings from another fellow PA resident.
  8. Try putting the flap up. ?
  9. Even I got into the act before the cold weather from Canada dropped on us.
  10. I know the Shickshinny area, great fishing along the river in that area but I don't know Five Mountain Outfitters. I'll do a google search and check it out during the long, cold winter we have coming up.
  11. Makes me think about how many packs of Zoom Trick Worms I can fit in the trunk of my car. I can be a bootlegger just like my grandpa only without all the alcohol.
  12. Lets see...in my region there is Wacky Worm (best spring sale and the owner makes his own plastic baits- knockoffs but just as good, BTW the owner has no internet sales but you can call him and he'll make what you want in bulk), Nimrod Haven (he sells guns and ammo as well) and the Tackle Box which mostly sells live bait and trout lures. There use to be about 5 more including one that had the biggest wall of crankbaits and jerkbaits you could imagine. The internet has taken its toll on the little shops but some still survive.
  13. Good luck ON. Most importantly, have fun.
  14. That is the true test of when to turn the furnace on.
  15. Buffalo ain't that far from Canada.
  16. I don't know how the Steelers could tie the Browns and beat the Bengals? Doesn't make a lick of sense to me. Its gonna be an interesting season.
  17. Oh my that is a beast. Congrats to your little brother.
  18. My advice...dress warm
  19. Pulled this off the internet https://www.heraldmailmedia.com/instant/kayaker-makes-unusual-discovery-in-greenbrier-state-park-lake-jellyfish/article_9450c0ce-acb3-11e8-b547-ab7d0d5d82c0.html
  20. Welcome to the forum Peter. We have tons of info and plenty of knowledge to share. Enjoy.
  21. We have them here in PA as well. They are small and if you weren't looking for them they would be hard to notice. Just looks like a small, pale white cross in the water. I don't think they harm the native environment. Much like you Mike I fished for decades and didn't see them, then one day noticed them in the water. Talked to a Fish&Boat guy at an outdoor show and he told me what they were.
  22. 3 vehicles in the same spot???? I guess Florida's state motto should be "See something, say nothing!".
  23. No. They are all fine, upstanding citizens with a grand future. All are possible candidates for Harvard or Yale. You would be surprised how many MENSA members reside in my area.
  24. No matter what it weighs, looks like a fun time.
