  1. Merry Christmas to all the forum members. Hope yours is a happy one.
  2. My advice, just purchase a cheap, heavy saltwater rod and reel. I know its a purchase that you may not use again for some time. If that is the case, buy used. I have a catfish and a panfish set up, both of which I use maybe twice a year. Both are inexpensive (cheap) but do the job well.
  3. I'll be having some of the finest Kielbasa in the land along with homemade mashed potatoes, candied yams and a fresh apple pie slice if there is any left by the time I'm done my meal.
  4. For me price matters more than brand. I try to get the best bang for my buck. Sometimes that doesn't happen but occasionally I find the best combination of quality and price. Brand never comes into play. I don't even consider it.
  5. Nothin' beats Christmas kielbasa and Yuengling beer. Merry Christmas everyone.
  6. I know how you feel. Even though I live in an area that is still pretty rural, the areas I use to hunt when I was a kid are now off limits because of housing and other developments. I don't hunt anymore but I see land that was part of my childhood going away. Going to my Uncle's place last year I noticed the mountain we use to hunt deer on was posted. This year they stripped all the trees off the mountain. Not sure what they have planned for it but its a shame to see what it has become. I, like you @N Florida Mike believe in people being able to build businesses to employ people. Its the American Way. But I lament the lose of a place that was part of a very good time in my life.
  7. I didn't say too old, its just that its a little creepy thinking about young Gundog's wall and the ages of those ladies today. Kind of like looking at a black and white photo of your grandmother in a bikini.
  8. Is Christie Brinkley still around? She may not know much about fishing but at least I'll have great scenery. BTW, if you remember some of the most attractive women from the 80's don't google them. Elle Macpherson is 54. I use to have her pic on my wall. Now I feel creepy.
  9. Beat me to it.
  10. Stay strong you two.
  11. Yea....slonezp is right.
  12. If you are willing to do a little DIY you could attach a underwater camera to a small remote controlled boat and you could go and see whatever you want. Only problem would be the launch. I'm thinking attach the camera to a plastic rod. You would have to find a way to retract and deploy the rod and camera.
  13. I occasionally travel through Amish country and see these big beasts plowing fields. They are amazing animals.
  14. Yea, I heard that little plastic castle holds the big ones. Spoonplug that!!!
  15. On my way to Philly to help a friend out I spotted a new (to me) B&T. Stopped in and they have the latest in kayaks and a good selection of tackle, some saltwater and some freshwater. If you are driving Rt. 309 near Hatfield, Pa. stop by Anglers Nation and check it out. This is what I got and they threw in a window sticker.
  16. Steelers may have lost to Oakland but we beat the Pats! Hooray!
  17. Terminator Titanium Spinnerbait, or as I tell my friend, "The one in the blue package, you idiot!". He has bought so many of the stainless variety and wonders why they stay bent after catching a bass.
  18. Every game I see Pat Mahomes in he makes incredible plays look easy. But I have to say that I said the same thing about Colin Kaepernick, Nick Foles, Steve Beuerlein, Robert Griffin and a lot of other QBs that, although they looked good for a few seasons, eventually faded. The NFL coaches have a way of creating countermeasures to offset talented opponents. I know a lot of Eagles fans who would agree with you about that. Andy Reid was at one time the most hated and liked man in Philly, in the same year.
  19. Would be amazing. Bryan Kerchal was the last one to do it in 1994. I agree its going to be awkward calling this event. The elephant in the room is going to be huge. Zona and the others are going to have to talk all the way around the facts.
  20. Congrats and I hope you enjoy a long, healthy life.
  21. I would have payed good money to see that. Next time record it.
  22. Good thing you spotted them quickly. Otherwise you would be much shorter.
  23. I've consulted the grand ole Almanac and taking into account changes in elevation, latitude and longitude, not to mention atmospheric pressure and cosmic lunar phasing, I believe I can accurately predict the correct day and even hour that ice will break and open water will be seen on your Lake Menderchuck, A-Jay. The good news is it is earlier than you think. March 27th. The bad news is its 2020! Have a nice but cold summer.
  24. One time I was fishing at this pond near a football field. All of a sudden, out of nowhere, a guy is a puffy suit comes gliding down from the heavens and lands no more than 50 feet from me. Talk about para-normal.
