Is there articles on here about blades, or spoons? I've fished weedless spoons, but never a magnum spoon or jigging spoon, or a blade bait.

Check which reel is lighter... It may not be completely indicative of which would be better, but a lighter spool will generally excel at throwing light lures and a heavier spool will be better for heavier lures.

Any natural creature is truly a friend when it comes down to it. That's what we are outdoorsman for after all, a great love of nature. That being said, they may eat on your bass. Eventually the otter population will drop the bass population, and the otters will die out. Then the bass population will slowly return to normal. Yes it takes time, and that sucka, but that is the natural ways of the world

If there is good light penetration (is, the clear water your fishng), it would be a good dock flipping bait.

This would be great. I've thought of hosting bank fishing tourneys, and am seriously contemplating doing one this summer. I've hadd big get together of bass fishing from the bank. They were actually quite fun, I would have probably 8 guys and we'd fish for a good long while and eat a picnic style meal. Called them 'fish outs'

True statement. I fish a weedless spoon w/out electronics by throwing it into heavy cover, but a big magnum spoon used in deep water for schooling summer bass, it is very helpful to have electronics

If there is some cover around, I would bang around a squarebill crankbait looking for a reaction bite. That bait will clang off of rocks and wood and make a knock that the bass just can't ignore. Choose your colors based on the proffered forage species.

Mine is a plastic stick worm, a shakey head craw combo, and a drop shot plastic. I like walking baits a lot too. Knot (invite you to groan here) a fan of jerkbaits.

Cherrywoods are nice rods. Never used an Abu reel before, but for 5 bucks I'm sure you can't go wrong. If it turns out you don't like it, sell it or give it to somebody. I would pick it up just to get the rod for $5.

When I was 6 a d used to go out in my uncle's bass boat when we would visit my Grandma in Tennessee. Spending that time w/the two biggest influences on my fishing (my dad and his brother) was the reason I got into fishing.

Also, forgot to put one last thing.. If you miss a strike, quickly pitch a tube/stick worm or other soft plastic to the area of the strike, like w/any other topwater bait. They will eat it if you put it right in front of their face after they reveal themselves.

Anytime! But I like to fish them at night because the strikes are viscous! I throw mine w/just a skirt, but a triler can be good for added bulk. I fish them w/a 6'6" medium rod and a 6.3:1 reel w/12#mono (my dedicated topwater/jerkbait setup) but you could vary well fish it on a spinnerbait set up as well. Crawl it just fast enough to keep it gurgling on the surface and let the fun begin!
