  1. Shoot... what about buying the same combo after selling it 3 times? lol
  2. Plan on 2-3 week wait on certain packages. Rod tubes have been sitting at several locations with no tracking updates.
  3. looked at 2 piece rods several times... Daiwa tatula cork models SC avid x or regular avid has a couple good ones G. Loomis e6x has a few two piece models Shimano crucial has a ML 2 piece on the big aution site for sale listed right now. Good luck!
  4. All are great choices. Addermine would be my pick. Super comfortable handle. Great sensitivity and balance.
  5. Go pick up a MB Orochi XX flatside special. Rod can do all these.
  6. 2500 hands down and for the rod - Shimano zodias, St. Croix avid, G. Loomis e6x, Daiwa tatula, St. Croix premier
  7. When it comes to St. Croix I typically look for their older discontinued models. When it comes to the handles and reel seats I wish they would K.I.S. They make great rods but pick components that are not always comfortable.
  8. I like fishing DS and have fished it in a lot of different depths and situations. My favorite is shallow near docks or out in deep water 25-40 ft. I think people can certainly complicate this technique. I like fishing fast so its hard to slow down and let this work on certain trips but it does get bit and by lots of species. Doesn't take much movement and you can drag or do slight lifts. Experiment with different worms, small tubes, wacky worms, minnow profile plastics, and swimbaits. Keep at it and find where those fish are holding.
  9. Hook up did but looks like they are out.
  10. Probably but the hardener I used says Hard as Nails right on the front. I think what you have there would work
  11. Out of your choices the Steez AGS. 13 fishing would be my last pic.
  12. That's it. Should be clear. Not sure what is actually is but that's it
  13. Don't use epoxy unless its something you buy from mudhole. Sally's is women's fingernail product that works great and dries clean. Recommended by DVT on here and works better than any epoxy. Dries nice and looks really good for small repairs like this.
  14. Those look awesome Mark. Great job!
  15. I have been down this road after purchasing several rods new and used with this issue. Best I can tell is the guide might have been bumped or even touched slightly and the epoxy just slightly pulls from the blank. Sometimes its very minor and water cant get in but sometimes water can get in a it turns the area white/milky color. If its going to bug you and you have OCD like me just swap it otherwise use sally nails on it and just a dab. I have ordered new NRX rods that looked liked the shimano you purchased. Its pretty normal to see with used rods from what I've seen.
  16. Guys....I know this been mentioned hundreds of times but I'll say it one more time.....buy Shimano
  17. When you walk into Fedex here is vey apparent that the employees hate their life. One lady would not take a rod with a Shimano shipping label because it wasn't an original and it was printed. Couldn't send in an NRX for this and I would have to wait to have a label snail mailed from Shimano. I have had packages completely lost they never even contact you about. I avoid them completely for 100 reasons. None are perfect but man insurance is a must.
  18. I've had bad experiences with all three but Fedex takes the cake for bad customer service is my experiences. Most breaks goes to USPS but I insure those packages in full every time. USPS will also randomly just lose a packaged for 3 weeks and oh there is is.....no tracking to where it went. Ship PVC when you can.
  19. Been fishing for years and lures in my opinion are not trendy. In fact I am going to hit the lake today.....bringing my spiders, turtle, bat, duck, shutter step and hollow body sunfish lures with me.
  20. topwater, med-large jerkbaits, fluke, worm, jig, lipless crank, plastics - cool find!
  21. Yes, they are a great bait. They don't cast all that far but a good bait for rivers, streams, and lakes around here. Have a buddy that only fishes the chrome w/ green ones with great success.
  22. I think its a Cabela's brand swimbait they sold a few yrs back. Maybe 3-5 yrs ago.
  23. Different strokes. I'd pay that difference everyday for the 16' GLX over a champ. Not knocking your 703 by any means but such a big fan of GLX spinners.
  24. I fish Yo Zuri 3DB in salt and fresh. Hooks are good, doesn't cast the farthest but great action. It digs down a little deeper than some which is nice too. I agree with the pointer being a good bait. I have found that fishing a Duo, pointer, and vision side by side the MB cast farther with less effort. I fish it in open water and have never broken a lip....knock on wood.
