Been bass fishing MI my whole life and can't seem to top 6lbs. Here are a few from a few years back (keep in mind I'm 6'-3" so these may look small). One on a hair jig and one on a lipless crank. I have also caught several in the 5lb-5.5 range. Great pics from others as well. Love this thread!
Yes, but with a nice rod like that I would have a rod builder do it and clean it up nice. There are some tips on here and other forums that tell how to do it yourself. Maybe someone can post that or chime in.
I actually have pictures and a list of issues typed out I have had over the last 5 yrs with FedEx. I will never use their services again. The best one was leaving 2 grand in office chairs in the middle of our parking lot in a rain storm on a weekend when we do not receive deliveries at our office. Not a fan of bashing any company but I steer anyone away from using them.
Totally agree and I do a super light coat. SC and Loomis stay the same. Daiwa, Megabass, and others change. SC and G. Loomis also have the best cork. Doesn't bother me either way.
I think I mostly use 6.2 and love fishing small cranks on spinning gear. Spinning reels are slower than most bait casters so it works great. Small cranks after dark in shallow water is one of the most productive fishing options on our lake in the summer.
From what I have seen all stores are getting certain sizes and quantities in of certain models at all different times. This is with other brands as well. Its not tackle shops fault by any means.
The pros for multiple rods - having options all rigged and ready.
Down side of too many setups and gear - messing with all your gear when you want to have a bait in the water. I love to downsize and simplify. I only fish with 1-3 setups depending on how much time I have. I do not tourney fish. I fish for fun and like to hike and bushwhack to spots and bringing an array of combos is not an option.
high end of your budget - GLX, Destoyer can be had with a discount for around $400
medium - Shimano expride, Orochi XX
low - zodias, Daiwa tatula, St. Croix Victory
ronin is a great rod for fishing smaller jerkbaits. I owned the rod from the original series and the new and the new series is more powerful for 110 baits. The original was on the lighter side.
