  1. The swim jig for sure but I just use a flipping jig like 3/8 or even 1/2 if it isnt super shallow and i swim, drag, twitch, or hop it.
  2. World class wouldn't boast...I've really just joined the forum and learn something everyday feel like everybody probably does even them battle axes that know WAY more, But I've been fishing since I can remember and went through several phases of obsession, but unfortunately I was like that with several things and flipped in between and fishing got put on the back burner for several years. I gained a new fascination with wildlife and nature and really wanted to be involved with it in some fashion and I already had plenty of nice tackle, old quantum combos from early 2000's, and passed down tackle boxes with gobs of old plugs and several loaded boxes of my own. So fishing just seemed like a good idea since then about a year ago I've maybe missed 3 or 4 days of fishing, I go multiple times a day even, and when you go like that with a little technique it really doesn't matter how good you are, you will catch fish. But i've really did my research, and have also figured out much is a individuals way of learning theres only so much somebody can tell you, but learning patterns and habits has been the most crucial thing for me how this or that type of weather effects the fish is very helpful and knowing the mood that they might be in is pretty helpful. I really got into finesse fishing this summer and it blew my mind, I looked everywhere online, and read as much as possible so I'm sure I learned something from articles about a shakey head or something on this site and just don't remember it I'm looking to learn as much as I can everyday about everything I don't know about, be it fishing, psychology, philosophy I want to know more! The biggest keys to my progressions would be curiosity and focus, I feel if you keep these at all times you always have more than most people.
  3. its so easy to do, im getting better
  4. I don't know how big you are.. I dwarf 6 lbers so pics never do them justice but the girth of that fish looks huge. beautiful coloration, i would of got measurements for replica mount!
  5. probably switched plugs too much
  6. my mistake, wrong four letter L word haha but yeah that would be so sickening to me to of craved a bass boat for so many years and then get some un reliable my gramps has got a black max and now he puts in where he fishes i thinks its been down twice since spring.
  7. i started heavily fishing a 2.5 over rip rap banks horizontally late this summer and would go back over the same bank without rattle if the rattle didnt produce and usually when it didnt it just wasnt the day for it, i don't think that the difference between 1.5 or 2.5 plays a role in the size of the fish either i read that somewhere in the thread. i fish a small private lake often and it is absolutely covered in shad every one has complaint about the action late august early october 2.5 did for me through out that whole time though still working rip rap, shallow flats, and just chasing the shad.
  8. i catch as many small bass crappie fishing as bluegill,on a float and two flies beneath generally or just regular grubs on several occasions ive had nice crappie smash a 1/4 oz colorado blade spinner bait. Back when i was like 7 or 8 i met a guy while fishing who was just a casual fisherman but he fished almost as often as me (one of the many summers spent consumed) and he always swore by a beetle spin by that time i was into casting gear and refused anything but a rattle trap but after a while i couldn't resist because of the production we were just fishing a pond bank fishing but i will never forget my amazement of the consistency and i remember plenty of decent fish on them too if you havent seen one its as small as a crappie jig with split tail and a small blade not really an item i would see and think to purchase no matter the species cheap though be worth a shot
  9. shakey head is the only way ive used it but i think i would use them almost anyway you would use a senko
  10. Alright, Thanks!
  11. Thanks that's the kind of info I was looking for. What would you guys recommend in aluminum outboard size, brand, length?
  12. I don"t know if I'd like casting frequently off this, but it'd be relaxing to bait fish off of for sure. On a contraption such as this a cold brew is only necessary. This is cool though.
  13. I'm not gonna necessarily be restricting my self to 8 or 9k but I'm definitely more on the conservative side when it comes to spending money, however I'm not gonna be tight and get junk. What you said though about the 10 year old aluminum thats the same price range as older fg. So with that being said what about larger aluminum? What difference would I really notice between the two aside from having more or less motor and when it come to an out board I want all I need but I dont need any more or less I want to be in shape to do what I want with my boat comfortably and go where I please. Lunds look so neat to the un-trained eye.
  14. Yeah thats rough stuff took a hula popper in the ear as it was being thrown when i was younger enjoyed that
  15. after the rain here i been throwing a black and blue jig with a green pumpkin magic baby brush hog with the front cut basically to the shape of yamamotos creature and putting just the tips of the legs in some chartreuse spike-it been producing for me and after several twitches and hops i swim it back moderately with somewhat aggressive twitches caught several that way as well
