  1. I've been hearing a lot about weed gaurds falling out of jigs lately and started thinking of the jigs I own. does anyone have any tips for reinforcing their jig's weed gourds so they stay in? also I was wondering if anyone could lend some advice on trimming weed gaurds. when should you trim them? how should they be trimmed? things like that. I've heard of people applying superglue to the bace of the weed gaurd. I've also heard of people trimming their weed gaurds on an angle so as the weed gaurd gets closer to the hook it gets slightly thinner. anymore ideas anyone?
  2. when i think of power fishing i think of people fishing heavy structure with heavy equipment such as braided line, heavy action flipping sticks using techinques like punching mats or anything that would require them to use more power than usual to get a fish into the boat. sometimes you gotta drag a fish to the boat with an extra 3 pounds of weeds on your line, or yank a fish from over a laydown. thats what i think of as "power fishing"
  3. cool cool so they are fairly cheap, but effective. i can dig that and I have the perfect hooks to swap the stocks out for when i need to. thanks for the info man.
  4. that stinks, nothing worse then the loss of a crankbait.
  5. yea it is a steal man and i hope i can say the same about mine.
  6. cool I hope so. It looks like it'll do the job just looks like it wont last too long.
  7. I just recieverd the BPS nitro shad dancer crankbait i ordered on black friday (2$ and change) does anyone know if they're any good? I only ask this because they feel fairly cheap (especially for the original non-sale price) IMO. the hooks are sharp dont get me wrong and it looks nice but it's just made of a really light cheap plastic material. I'm not stressing though, you get what you pay for. lol Does anyone have this bait that can speak on it?
  8. ahahahahahhahahahahahaha "fishbook!"
  9. yes! haha it's working now after warming up! works perfect!
  10. i hope were in the same boat on that one.
  11. like team9nine said a fish is gonna hit a bait if it's hungry, I'd only worry about blades if they were being picky and nonresponsive to others.
  12. lol^
  13. I fished until the water froze and the water froze 20 days before the season ended. lol didn't catch a thing either just needed to be fishing. needed that fix and it wasn't even worth casting in 18 degrees for a half hour haha.
  14. thanks man and yes! the line on all them bad boys is trash haha. thats why i ordered line for next season.
  15. do you think when they warm up it will work again?
  16. Can the cold affect your reels? i keep my rods and reels on the indoor porch and it gets as cold as -9 degrees out there at night this time of year. today i went and messed with one of my spin reels and the anti reverse wasnt working :/ flicked the switch a few times and still nothing. could the cold be to blame? I'm thinking of taking all of my reels and stowing them out of the cold somewhere.
  17. i plan on ordering some grid iorn jigs from there friday. how does the purchase process work? i tried to order some but was confused as to why I wasn't asked for credit card info? do they send your order and you pay at the door or something?
  18. thank you hahah you have solved the mistery.
  19. lol I'm probably overthinking things...
  20. I know this lol let me ask it better, so on baitcasting rods the label "casting" is just to represent that it's for baitcasting? i thought maybe it represented that rods primary use like how crankbait casting rods say "cranking" on them.
  21. why do some rods say "casting" on them when we cast with all rods? do they specialize in distance casting or something?
  22. word great thanks guys
  23. are these swim jigs? what would you use them for?
  24. everythings frozen where I'm at.
  25. I put some thought in and have decided to get a Revo sx instead. thanks for the info though guys.
