  2. yea i get that, its true. i dont want to buy something i'll be replacing fast or neglecting.
  3. thats a nice way to challenge yourself tho
  4. word, i cant wait to get better at predicting the mood of the fish. also finding the fish without a fish finder can be hard at times.
  5. thats true^ lol sadly.
  6. what would you consider LOW, NORMAL, and HIGH barometric pressure?
  7. thats true, BUT... i'm looking to throw a reel on the rod i got from a friend. not trying to put togeather a bullet proof set up, i have 25 days until the season ends and wouldnt mind using it.
  8. berkley makes good products. bottom line. i have both a medium heavy 7 foot casting lightning rod and cherrywood HD. both GREAT rods for ther 20-40$ price range. heck they feel a lot better than some of the 75$ rods i've used.
  9. well it's used and the hooks look rusty and dull. i have new vmc's to throw on it when it arrives
  10. i can save up and get a better reel, and i probably should. lol im just so eager to put another set up togeather, I'll wait tho. i get paid friday and i really want a quantum smoke lol.

  12. i've tried the black max, never the silver, blue, or pro though.
  13. does anyone know anything about this reel and is it worth the price? i'm just looking to throw it on a used rod I got off a friend. (medium casting abu garcia vendetta) http://www.ebay.com/itm/Abu-Garcia-Hank-Parker-Low-Profile-Baitcast-Reel-Bait-Casting-Baitcaster-/371175874990?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item566bce61ae#ht_221wt_880
  14. nice i cant wait for it to come in, i'll check it to see if it needs tuning then switch the hooks for new ones. sucks i probably wont get to use it until spring though, but hey from what im hearing its a kick butt bait!
  15. makes sence, and yea medium heavy will get the big mammas out there lol
  16. yea man i find that when you use a medium heavy stick to crank it also handles spinnerbaits, jerkbaits, and buzzbaits pretty well.
  17. i feel you man, i've felt a lot of cranking rods that dont have the amount of power i'd like them to. thats why I ushually use a medium heavy.
  18. makes sence, i know a lot of people that only crank with mediums. and i ddn't get it. lol
  19. At the moment i'm using my medium heavy moderately fast 7 foot berkley lightning rod for cranking. I hear a lot of talk about how you should use medium power rods to crank. I find that if you get a medium heavy with a mod/moderately fast tip you shouldn't have a problem cranking. I've never ripped a hook out of a fishes mouth, does anyone else crank with rods of higher power than medium? I think too many fishermen do what they're told and not what they feel.
  20. lol yea right
  21. thats great to know i was hoping the had a good casting weight. I cant wait to catch a smallie with it.
  22. I just bought this norman d22 crankbait and was wondering if anyone has one and can tell me what they think of it?
