Fluoro for sure if you want some decent sink. I don't feel I need more than 12# fluoro fishing it weightless. I will go down to 10# fluoro and a M/M rod when using an octopus hook and no weight.
I don't completely palm a reel or switch hands to retrieve and a low profile reel is still by far more comfortable from my experience. The lower they sit on the reel the better.
If you are just starting out then opt for some soft "XL" mono over fluoro and buy some KVD L&L. Keep your brakes and spool tension set high then back it off as you get comfortable casting.
You guys hatin again?? My stealth is still rockin n rollin and was $45. If you're spending $80 on the ProMax then the LFS is in that price range on Ebay.
1 rod for me...the others just get caught up in the limbs and cause havoc, but I fish some tight places. Usually a 6'6"-6'9" M/MH rod. I do some retying that's for sure.
I personally don't feel comfortable with 10# line texas rigging anything. I try to go as low as possible and have went thru the 10# line phase and it has let me down too much. I like 12/15# Seaguar fluoro for light T-rigging. 12# Seaguar is as thin as most 10#
