I bought a spool of Sniper the other day to try. Also, just ordered some Yo-Zuri Ultra Soft in 10# & 12#.
Would this make a good cranking line? The lakes I fish have very little brush. Any users of this stuff.
I'm going to try some Sniper on one of my combos. What # test would you guys recommend? I mainly fish weighless senkos, flukes, spinnerbaits. The rod will be 6'9" MH/F action. Leaning towards the 14# test since it runs thin. It will be more of an all purpose setup.
If its a new reel then exchange it. Sounds like you have a pawl/worm gear issue. I've had new reels do that and I just replace em. If it continues to do this then I would return it.
I took the reel out again today for about an hour. Tossed a 1/2oz square bill in light wind. It performed flawlessly. I'm starting to believe that I got a great deal. It performs like any $100+ reel.
I too like the 1/4 - 3/8 swim jigs. The Terminator swim jigs have a light wire hook and you can get away with lighter line and rod. That's my go to jig.
15# fluoro if you're throwing 1/2oz spinners in clear water. I learned the hard way that 10/12# is too light and lost a couple T-1's last Fall. Bass tend to slam spinnerbaits when the conditions are right. Just imo
I agree with you that's the 1st thing I noticed right out of the box. They skimped on the plastic. Their logo does look cheap. No parts for it yet. I tried ordering a couple handles and they said give it time and they will be available.
I just use a little fine cut saw, but it depends on how perfect you want it to look and if you are reusing the darker cork.
I see a lot of things on this link below you can replace that darker cork with.

Do you have a cheap old rod you can experiment on first??
How far above the reel is your balance point right now?
I would carefully remove that darker cork and drill out a small area to add weight. Then glue the darker cork back on. Probably wouldn't even notice if it's done right.
Lots of haters when it comes to this reel.
Looks like the are sold out everywhere. It doesn't function like a $45 reel is all I can say at this point. I have little time on the water with it, but so far I am impressed. I emailed the company and they were quick to respond and very friendly.
Primetime, I just bought the Superlite on sale and am impressed. I only have two trips on it so not sure how durable it will be, but it is very smooth both casting and on the retrieve.
The new Carbonlite is very nice. I'm sure its no TP, but its no joke of a reel either. Very nice and easy to tune with the dual brakes that are adjustable from the outside of the reel. All reels should go to this method imo. It's smooth and light as a feather.
