Almost bought one, but instead grabbed the 6’8” Lews KVD jerk bait rod. It’s too stiff imo and I’m curious to hear what you guys think about the Fuego.
I have been fishing both 10 & 12# InvizX all year on BFS reels that holds about 50yds with no issues. It’s plenty of line. Same type of fishing you are doing. I do get some hookset break offs with the 10# at times. I’m assuming Tatsu has similar breaking strength as InvizX.
I purchased a spinning reel recently and it has a choppy feel to the gears. Went thru it and cleaned and greased everything with no luck. I’m new at working on spinning reels, but noticed this part looks to be an issue. Should the slider look like this? Seems to have a crack in it. FYI it’s a Lews ?
I feel like balance makes the rod more sensitive. When your dragging a t-rig or jig your not dealing with dragging the extra weight of the rod too. What do you feel more…a bite on a 1/32oz jig or a 1oz jig? I do like my crank bait rods a little tip weighted at the front off the nut.
If I have to add more than an ounce then I don’t mess with it. Anything over 6’6” - 6’9” in a split grip takes some weight to balance. Anymore if I can get the balance at the front of the reel then I’m good.
This is funny because I too started back using 1/16th roadrunners this Spring and have been killing crappie. You can get away with 4# test for crappie if it’s semi open water. They don’t put up much of a fight and it’s fun when they pull drag.
