  2. That's a great idea. I use a small cd holder myself but those look even more compact.
  3. There's quite a few tires in my ponds, and believe me, they hold fish.
  4. Catch fish?? . I would imagine if you could catch them on texas rigs, shakeyheads and such, you could do all right.
  5. I created a little structure of my own in one of my ponds. Essentially criss-crossed two logs, creating an open triange in the middle, in which I propped/sunk an old christmas tree. I put more branches on top of everything, and weighted down the ends of the logs with rocks. Caught a couple of bass off of it, but it's chock full of bluegill now, and that's a good thing, because it attracts bass to the area. Took about an hour to make and it has improved the fishing, if not drastically.
  6. Pretty sick bait. I have never had luck on buzzin frogs, but I still chuck that one a lot just for the fun of it. It's an awesome deal.

  10. 'Bout 50 minutes away from Bass Pro and Cabelas in a big outlet. Make it out there about every 3-4 months.
  11. Changed up my roster a bit. Added Kelly Jordan after looking at the 2010, 2009, and 2006 results. In 2010, he finished 7th. In 2009, he finished 8th. In 2006, he finished 11th. That's not bad! I'm willing to bet on him rather than Mark Davis.
  12. I've experimented with beavers and they have pretty good action. Never tried a creature, though.
  13. I have been throwing frogs nonstop this weekend. I have trained myself so hard with hooksets that it's soooo hard to "untrain" my reflexes and wait a little. I've had about 5-6 strikes so far, none hooked thanks to my stupidity, and I actually caught a warmouth on one. Still trying hard!
  14. My favorite pond is very private, being a cemetery pond that most don't have access to. I got permission to fish it, and am one of the only ones who do so. However, up the path out of the woods and down the street a little, there is a giant pool in the neighbourhood adjoining. It's killer in these hot NC days (only getting hotter) to hear the delighted shouts and splashes from the water. Maybe a little different encounter of human kind .
  15. The most effective bait for me is a senko. My favorite bait to catch bass on is a buzzbait.
  16. My best ever would go (outside of a tournament): -7 3/4ths -4 1/2 -4 1/3 -3 1/2 -3 So that's about 23 pounds, give or take a little. And consider the fact that I've only been bass fishing for a year, that's not bad. This is not counting the multiple 3 pound+ fish I caught during my nightcrawler days.
  17. TW has some colors, at least they did yesterday. And they also have the VMC mushroom heads in stock, which would work for the other half.

  20. Turtles will go after just about any lure you're throwing. Senkos are no exception. caught several on them and had them bite off senkos in half.
  21. I've tried hooking small frogs hopping around on the bank and throwing them in....never had any luck.
