  1. I looked at the results again this morning; how bout a Chris Lane sitting in the twenties with a nice bag of fish!!
  2. WHY. DID. I. NOT. PICK. BRENT. EHRLER. Dang it lol, I literally had him, then Brett Hite, then him, and then in the end I went with Brett Hite because he did well for me at Toledo Bend. I knew one of them would do well. Made the wrong pick. I have: Faircloth Hite Reese Roumbanis Jordan Interesting facts: I did poorly today, yet I still increased in my percentage margins, telling me that a lot of people struggled. Maybe it was the top-rated bucket A pick (KVD) doing poorly, along with Hackney and Lefebre not showing out too strong. Also, look at last place. 7 pounds!! Even the loser caught 7 pounds of fish. That's crazy. Everyone caught them today.
  3. Good to have you on board, but why hijack our fantasy fishing thread with self promotion?
  4. Read on the live blog that Faircloth has at least three, including a 7 pounder. He's on my team for bucket A.
  5. Let's say a scale was off and an angler disagreed with the weight. What do you do then? Call out an official to go find you on the lake? That's not going to work.
  6. I think it's a lot harder to be an "official" sport when there are 130 different people and scales weighing fish (if we did it for an elite series tournament). 1 scale vs. 130 scales; it's risky. It's way easier to do in MLF when you have cameras in every boat and only a few people fishing.
  7. There are WAY too many sticks showing no fish for that to be accurate. 110% guarantee BASSTrakk is doing the usual BASSTrakk things. ha.
  8. Jeez, am I the only one hoping Sam Rayburn has poor cell service right now?
  9. He's fishing crazy right now, hasn't placed a finish below 16th since, I wanna say, Cherokee?
  10. This is arguably one of the hardest bucket A's I've ever had to wade through...guys like Greg Hackney and Todd Faircloth have great history on the lake, while guys like Kevin Vandam and Jason Christie are fishing out of their minds right now. Bucket B isn't a whole lot easier. Here's something interesting: Hackney, Christie, and Faircloth have all consistently made top 50 cuts since last June! That's some crazy consistency. I'm confident most of these guys will do well, but I can't make up my mind.
  11. Sooooo...I don't think I caught the fish that shook me off the other night, but I did catch a nice one! My best friend was here for this catch as well and we both agreed that this probably wasn't the fish we saw. It could be, but to me this fish didn't come close to the sheer size I saw when the other one jumped. Even in the case that this is the fish I lost, it's still the second biggest fish I've ever caught at 7 pounds even. When we got to the pond this morning, I offered to let my best friend and my brother take the canoe out since it doesn't fit three people very well. I walked down to the dock while they were getting the canoe, and caught a nice three pound bass on my second cast, using a Castaic BD gunfish imitation topwater. A three pounder is a nice fish any day for me, and the other guys were super jealous that I had caught one so early. They launched the canoe, and I kept fishing. They weren't twenty feet away from the dock when I fired a long cast to an opposite bank and got slammed. Not only was it a topwater blowup and on a long cast, I had a spinning rod with 8 pound line. It was an incredibly fun fight. After I landed her, the bite shut off like light switch and the other guys never even had a chance to set the hook. I realize that I caught her on a small private pond, but I still had a blast doing so even if it wasn't quite as hard as catching a 7 pounder on a lake. Annndddd I can't get the pictures vertical ?
  12. We all have those big fish stories.....this time it was my turn. I was fishing last night out of a canoe on a small pond. We had caught a couple dinks, and I decided to try for some topwater action towards the end of the night. I had a fish hit my buzzbait and head out towards the middle of the pond, taking drag. She paused to jump right after getting past the boat and spit my hook. She was so enormous that my best friend thought it was a catfish at first. I've seen a lot of big bass, and have caught a 7.12, but this thing blew any of those fish out of the water. She was enormous. My friend and I both agreed she was probably around 9 pounds - certainly way bigger than a 5 or 6 pounder. I even had a trailer hook on the buzzbait
  13. rage craw pretty much all the time for me.
  14. I love power pro. It's never let me down.
  15. I wouldn't say this unless we were cool but I must say I wasn't too sad to catch up a little bit
  16. Love me some muddy water! Put a lipless and a jig in my hand and I'll catch fish
  17. This is probably your best bet right here.
  18. 2 guys in the top twelve. I was sweating all day in hopes that they would make it ??
  19. I have three in the cut. Monroe, Reese, and Christie.
  20. Some of my best days for size or quality have been the days I didn't think I'd catch em.
  21. I'm not working towards doing any competitions. I've been working out with more running, fitness style workouts for about a year and a half. I got in great shape but due to my 16 year old metabolism I couldn't gain any weight or put on mass. What precious little I had was almost 100% muscle with very low body fat percentages. I enjoyed the workouts I was doing, but bodybuilding has always been my favorite, and I got access to a gym I previously wasn't allowed to go to because of age. I'm not giving up running or anything, but I'm 110% focused on gaining some serious mass over the summer.
  22. Didn't even see your post, sorry man. I just got hired at Chicfila and started serious bodybuilding 4-5 nights a week so I've suddenly got a lot busier.
  23. Soooo...I hated my picks for this one. Meaning, I just didn't feel confident about my team. And when I checked BASSTrakk after work today, they weren't doing that well. I was already depressed about this event and thought I would flop. Then I went onto my bassmaster fantasy account and apparently I jumped like 11 percentile places to 86.25!! Whaaaaaa! Didn't see that coming. My guys didn't even do that well. I guess everyone struggled on day one. So I had a great Toledo Bend event, and my theme for picks on Toledo was the big M: momentum. I did so well that I stuck with the momentum theme for this one. Specifially, I was very interested in the results for the Bassmaster open on Chickamauga last week. I got: -Jason Christie: My runner up pick was Jason Williamson. He would have been a better choice, but he had a TERRIBLE finish at Chickamauga last week so I went with Christie. I was focusing on momentum for this event. Jason is tied for my worst pick in 53rd but I have every confidence that he can make the top 50 tomorrow. -Brett Hite: I was torn between Brett Hite and Palaniuk. Both were decent choices after top 12s at Toledo Bend. He's just outside the cut in 53rd place and looking for a strong day two. -Ish Monroe: I had Steve Kennedy on, then Tharp, then Kennedy, and then I saw Ish post a really good finish at Chickamauga and figured this lake set up for him. He's doing pretty well in 23rd place. -Skeet Reese: Strong finish at Toledo and it's looking like Skeet's season is turning around. Sitting in 22nd place currently. He was the only guy I really considered for this bucket if I remember right. -Justin Lucas: Again, I went with Chickamauga for this one. Justin really needed something to get him on the right track and the bassmaster open was a fantastic tournament for him. I knew that he could correct himself for a decent finish here. Sitting in 48th. I had Tommy Biffle but went with Justin on a whim. Definitely got some bubble boys - fingers crossed for Saturday, but they could just as easily tank as they could do well.
  24. Lightning shock rods are dope. Don't let the price tag or color fool you.
  25. The way I defend myself, I could be using the money for drugs...or smokes...or strippers...you choose, Mom and Dad In all seriousness, I guess I'm a pretty simple guy. I don't like buying things for myself that much. I have three rods and reels that I regularly take with me, and a couple other sticks. While they're nowhere near nice equipment, they serve me well. I've found the lures I like and I stock up on them when they run out. That's about it for me.
