  1. I found mine floating almost brand new in a pond. Been using it ever since!
  2. 7 is a cotton cordell diver, you can find them in Wally World bargain bins across the U.S. 6 looks like a SK shallow diver, maybe a series 1 or 2?
  3. I've fallen in love with the shakeyhead technique recently. Fishing it shallow really suits my style of fishing, not to mention produces lots of chunky bass. I have a package on the way from TW right now, and I finally ordered the Ned Rig stuff. So I was curious, how does the Ned Rig differ from, say, a shakeyhead with a 4-inch finesse worm? In what situations would you throw one or the other?
  4. I usually just summarize the baits and techniques that work for me for different seasons.
  5. Sounds like that's a great job....I don't think I'd leave if your boss believes in spreading the wealth . Maybe my boss needs to give him a call!
  6. This week, we had family come in from all over the U.S. and world to come meet at our place. We took all the cousins fishing last night. Armed with nightcrawlers and ultralight rods, I took them to my favorite pond and set them up casting over some bluegill beds. Every single kid caught multiple fish. The bluegill were super aggressive and they had no problem detecting bites, even w/out bobbers. Couple of bass were caught. My brother pegged a nice 2 1/4 pounder on a senko. Bottom line, it was a joy to go out and not fish on my own (or, if I did, to pass the rod on instead of bringing the fish in!). Take a kid fishing! It's a great way to pass on the love of the sport and invest time in the kids you know. It's worth it, even with all the crossed lines .
  7. Yes, I've been trying to peg a frog fish for the last month......a lot of short stikes later, I just bought a jr frog, so hopefully I can start catching them.
  8. I caught a sand shark a couple of months ago at the beach, it was fun.
  9. I feel genuinely sorry for you.....
  10. I've caught fish on white senkos. They work.
  11. Mostly plastics, with some frogs mixed in. I swim craws and worms a lot more than I fish swimbaits. I recently switched over to braid, so I wanted something a little heavier.

  13. I find that just going out and fishing will eventually produce big bass. I haven't taken the time or effort to exclusively target big bass.....to me it's not worth it when I could be catching both numbers and size. The best time to target big bass in my ponds is prespawn/bed fishing, so I guess then I am targeting big fish. But that's about it.
  14. TW's sale came in handy just when my rod got broken. Ordered the Ned Rig stuff finally and picked up some Structure Bugs to try out. Pumped about those. But what what I'm really pumped about? MH *** Black on the way, baby!!!
  15. What hype??? You mean all the fish we catch on them?
  16. My absolute favorite way to catch fish is on a buzzbait. I really don't have a least favorite. I don't care for cranking, but it produces sometimes and I've caught some good fish on crankbaits. Honestly, I'll throw whatever I need to. I caught my PB dragging a bait like a Carolina rig .
  17. Great Stuff! I wish my dad fished, it's a great way to make memories.
  18. Fishing a shakeyhead is like the best-producing, monst consistent technique ever. I highly recommend it .
  19. I always am a little more careful, I lose fish when I horse them in like that.
  20. Walmart had Rodents on sale for $2 a pop, so I picked up some to try. Also got some weights and a Pad Crasher jr. Hopefully I can start catching all the short fish hitting my Spros .
  21. I would highly recommend looking for a part-time job. I personally hate the feeling of just sitting around, and was thrilled to death to get a job this spring. Unfortunately it cuts down on fishing time, but getting a job has helped me in so many ways. I'm earning money for future college expenses, learning a ton about responsibility and maturity, and have more freedom to feed the bait monkey. It's sometimes hard to get out of bed and face another hot day of weedwhacking, but getting that check at the end of the week is worth it all.
  22. It was a great game! Felt pretty bad for the Japanese goalie. What can you do against Carly Lloyd lol?

  24. 1/8 oz. shakeyhead with Zoom Finesse worm. All day, baby!!! Close second would be, well, I think you can guess
