  1. Way to get em, Hootie!
  2. It would help to understand more about your specific combo. Is it spinning or baitcasting? What action is it (M, MH, etc)? I've found, for my use and needs, that a Medium-Heavy baitcasting combo has great all-round uses for everything from chatterbaits and spinnerbaits to jigs and soft plastics
  3. I love the fact that it was caught on a grub and not a Roman Made; there's still some hope left for me haha.
  4. It's a very rare occasion that I don't need to see a scale confirming 10+ to know that the bass is a double digit. That's one heck of a fish, sir.
  5. My favorite baits in general for fall fishing are a jig and a lipless crankbait. They seem to work really well this time of year especially.
  6. Hey Clayton, I'd love to hear a review on those Presidents once you get a chance to use them.
  7. I've watched quite a few of the episodes and really enjoy them; it's definitely my kind of show.
  8. Hey guys, my brother-in-law was asking me about what combo he should get. He's mainly a surf fisherman and has surf rods already, but he wants something that he can use for both fresh and salt water. He uses spinning tackle and is looking for something under $100. The combo that came to mind for me was a President or similar spinning reel and a MH Ugly Stik, but I figured I'd ask ya'll if you had any experience with something like that. Wasn't quite sure how to answer him. Any recommendations are welcome, thanks!
  9. Looks to be approximately somewhere between 2 and 22 pounds
  10. Yeah and I'm almost 6'2 haha, it was pretty high. The ground slopes around my neighborhood and there's a creek nearby so it was a natural flowing point for the water. It's almost all back to normal as far as flooding is concerned. Schools were cancelled today because of power outages, and there's still a number of trees down. A couple bridges and roads got washed away from the floods in the area, but the damage was nothing compared to Florida and Haiti and the like.
  11. Within walking distance. Haha, I'm not one to freak out about internet security. If any of you want to stalk me, feel free and we can go fishing lol
  12. Most of NC has been flooding and power outages, lots of trees down as well. Not half so serious as what happened in Florida. I will say, the flooding was crazy. These pictures were taken on Saturday, all of this was dry ground on Friday. (The quality is due to these being screenshots from a video and I had a plastic bag over the phone). Also, I wouldn't recommend going out in the storm and water like I did, should have stayed inside. The middle picture is a parking lot in our neighborhood.
  13. Clayton, somebody needs to tell those coyotes they messin with the wrong man! Haha
  14. That's awesome man. I'd be all over that deal. Can't wait to purchase my first truck.
  15. I love Casey. He's such a talented and cool guy
  16. I wish I had understood more about which rods and reels to buy. Don't go cheap; you'll regret it later.
  17. I absolutely LOVE fishing after rain, or during rain.
  18. From what I've seen, Georgia and South Carolina take the cake hands down. There's always the cash register workers at Wendys and McDonalds.....
  19. I couldn't get fish to spit mine if they tried....haven't had a problem with it. I do know my dad experienced some issues with them because he wasn't keeping the line tight while fighting, but I assume you wouldn't be doing that.
  20. Looks awesome man glad you had a good trip
  21. ammo ain't cheap anymore
  22. My favorite obstacle was probably the mud pits; there's something pretty satisfactory about jumping into mud haha. My favorite part of the race was the comraderie and the guys in our team pushing each other to finish.
  23. Had an absolute blast with some of the guys in my workout group today at a Spartan race down at Fort Bragg, NC. Some of the obstacles included jumping over fire (pictured), the spear throw, crawling under barbed wire, climbing walls and nets, carrying heavy buckets and sandbags up hills, rope climbs, a lot of running, and of course sloshing through mud pits. I had a great time and am definitely setting my sights on the next level of these races. This was the Sprint (this particular sprint was 4.7 miles) and the Super and Beast ones are 8 and 13 miles respectively with more obstacles. I won't get the official race pics for a while yet but there were some quick ones we took. I'm the skinny tall kid lmao
  24. When you see water and you just think "bass!!!!!" I never pass a body of water, whether it's a tiny urban creek or a huge lake, without wanting to throw in a line.
