  1. Yup. He's been catching stripers, perch, bass, catfish, bluegill, you name it.
  2. I wouldn't miss Toledo Bend for the world! Unfortunately, my parents don't share my sentiments .
  3. I have two LCs, one in Aurora Blue and the other in Green Perch. I like both of them, but if I had my druthers I'd go with the Aurora blue.
  4. I noticed that lol. I think it's pretty funny.
  5. I'll put my money on the Hula Popper every time. It's an old bait but it just plain out works.
  6. I'm into coins, so yes I have seen one but they don't pop up all over the place. They ought to make a special edition with different species of bass .
  7. I have several fishing enthusiasts in our church, including an older man who used to fish FLW as a co-angler. I'm going out Saturday with a dedicated crappie angler on Lake Jordan, NC We're going to start at 5:30 in the morning, and spider rig with live bait. I'm looking forward to it! He comes up every Sunday to show me his latest haul of slabs, so he definitely has their winter pattern figured out. Hopefully I'll be able to post some pics.
  8. I've heard raves about both the Shimano Curado and Cronarch for the upper price range of your limit. I highly disagree with your opinion about the Tournament mg, but I'll remain civil lol
  9. I'm loving my tourney mg speed spool and would highly recommend it. I got it for 50 dollars on sale, but that's over. You could probably find one on the Flea Market for 80-90 bucks.
  10. That is a slauncher, to use the big-fish vocab. Great fish!
  11. Can't beat live bait for sheer numbers. Great job, man.
  12. Just curious, what does it look like to go to a classic defiantly?
  13. Okay, sending an email to my grandpa........ He likes fishing, but he's more the "nightcrawler, anything I can catch" guy so I'm not sure he would enjoy it that much. I know nothing about it, so couple of questions: How much does it cost? Do you just go for the weigh-in, or is there stuff offered all day(s)? Do you think that a guy like my grandpa would enjoy it?
  14. I trim the skirts on mine but haven't experimented with taking them off altogether.
  15. You mean what I know lol
  16. Are legs on a frog important to you? I would think that in heavy cover like a mat or thick pads, they wouldn't be that important, but they'd be utilized more in clear water. Thoughts?
  17. Looks sweet! Looking forward to some pics of bass you catch on them.
  18. Here's rootin' for Ike! That would be such a cap to an amazing season for him.
  19. Creek chub. I catch them all the time in my creek.
  20. My Grandpa lives near Greenville, and I'm in NC, so I'd like to but I'm not sure if it'll work out.
  21. Full disclosure: your fish is much bigger than anything I've caught. Great job!
  22. I have the Abu Garcia Vengeace and have 0 complaints. Okay, so it's not a G. Loomis, but it performs very well. Like many people will tell you, when ordering an Abu Garcia rod, they're typically heaver in action than their rating might suggest. So my 6'6 Med actually feels like a 6'6 Med H. Just something to keep in mind if you go with it. Also, you might try trolling around the flea market or asking people if they have a 80-100 rod you could pick up for 50-60 bucks. Good luck on your search!
  23. You crushed them! Those are some great fish.
  24. Good luck, man!
