  1. Have you fished it yet?
  2. http://www.spro.com/SearchResults.asp?Cat=374 This one looks like a winner. Are you going to try it?
  3. I really like the Rage's handle, it's a nice break from the skinny split handles on a lot of rods. That said, the Ghost feels like a dream in your hand, noticeably lighter than the Rage, and it's said to be a great performer, too. They're both made by good companies, and I don't think you could go wrong with either.
  4. S-L-O-W D-O-W-N
  5. I like Watermelon Red better because I think red helps. I dunno if it really does, but I guess it's a confidence thing. GP works, too.
  6. I tend to hear Smithwick Rogues come up the most, but I don't fish jerks that much.
  7. What if KVD made another frog to go along with his Sexy Frog, but this one would have legs, not skirts. And what would he call it? The Flexy Frog, of course!
  8. I started out with a tacklebox, and quickly gave it up. Couldn't stand having to pick it up every second (I move around a lot) and there's slopes where I fish, so it rolled into the water twice. I almost rolled with it . I now use a small backpack and love it. I have two plano boxes, a small binder of plastics, and tools. If I was fishing tourneys and lakes, I'd pack more, but there's no need from the bank. Then, I have ton of worms and panfish equipment that I leave home. Not too much.
  9. Love your randomness!
  10. Nope, they don't have most expensive rods out and I didn't check to see if they had it somewhere behind the shelf.
  11. Hey there, and welcome to the best forums online. You'll find a mine of bass fishing information and a ton of friendly members. Thanks for joining up.
  12. I wouldn't set my drag all the way with anything less than 50 pound braid. Try backing down a little on your drag and that may help.
  13. My Dad did get some of those for us, now that you mention it.......
  14. I didn't go with the intention of buying, I went with the intention of looking/feeling. If I were to buy something, I'd snag some online sales and head to TW, which I way prefer over Bass Pro. Besides, it's not like I didn't want to, I just told myself I didn't need more. And, what I did today also helped make decisions for future online orders. So don't judge, folks . Believe me, I have the bait money syndrome too.
  15. Well I have a guy in my church who's giving me baits at 1/3 the price, so I really couldn't justify getting anything new. I'm having to pay for college in a few years, so any (*ahem* most) extra money I have gets tucked away.
  16. Despite my earlier post, I'll second that. I held the combo today at Bass Pro and it sucks. Terribly heavy and the reel has no amount of smoothness. Feels like a toy.
  17. Heard a lot of good about that reel. You can't go wrong with that purchase. Enjoy!
  18. I made it in and out of Bass Pro Shops today without spending a cent!!! It took considerable self control. I had a lot of fun comparing weights of rods. I've already looked at all the lures, but I was pretty fascinated by the rods. For instance, the G. Loomis GL2 rods actually felt chunky compared to the lightest bass rods there, the Carbonlite and the Diawa Lexa. The Duckett Ghost was a close third. And here I thought that the G. Loomis' were the lightest rods on the market..... Had a blast.
  19. From what I've heard those are both solid pieces of equipment. You can't go wrong with that combo.
  20. What a fishing pioneer. http://www.bassmaster.com/news/famous-lure-designer-cotton-cordell-dies
  21. I personally wouldn't get a baitcaster under 75, but if you'll use it go for it.
  22. Whoops Sam, you messed me and made me think that combo was 1500 bucks. my mistake .
  23. Nice combo. I can't imagine owning a 1500 dollar combo. I'd be afraid to take it out.
