  1. M/H should work, I've heard the Ghost is a great all round rod.
  2. Well, I love senkos.
  3. It'd be pretty cool to see one of these come out: http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/tech/tech-news/Apple-patents-GoPro-like-wearable-camera/articleshow/45881577.cms
  4. Sounds like you have a reel problem there.
  5. That's a rather loaded question! I've heard that the Tatula is a fantastic reel for the price, but you can't go wrong with any of them.

  7. Been wondering about this myself, as my rod is MH/f, so thanks for the help.
  8. A small popper, when I say small I mean not a fly bug, but probably 1/2 the size of a Rebel Pop'r. Those things will get hit from bluegill as well as small bass, and they're a lot of fun to use when you know there's bream hanging around but the bass won't bite.
  9. I have a shirt that I was wearing when I caught my two biggest bass and a pike in. I doubt it was the shirt, but I still like wearing it for fishing.
  10. In ponds I almost always start off with a senko or curly tail, both confidence baits for me.
  11. Yeah, I forgot the braid/floro/mono threads, for one. I'll have to add to it.

  13. You might have something there...
  14. Who knows, maybe he's found a new attractant lol
  15. I've been turning to jigs more and more for any scenario. They excel in so many conditions.
  16. I typically don't buy into the whole "nipping the tail thing," but I have seen some vids of wintertime fishing where people had to wait longer to set the hook. So that could be true for winter fishing. The way you can usually tell if it's a panfish or not (at least for me) is how fast they bite. The bluegill hit it really hard, your line jumps about a foot, and then it goes slack, no fish on the end. Bass typically (not always) hit it more drawn out.
  17. I hate them too. The thought of cat hair all over my house would be enough to make me flip out.
  18. Sorry about your loss, man. I've always wanted a dog, never been able to have one 'cause my family members are allergic.

  20. Despite the nice weather here, I haven't had that much luck this winter either. Hopefully the spawn comes early .
  21. I caught mine this last summer, on a private lake in MN. I was at that time transitioning to lures, but I still used nightcrawlers too. I was fishing for a sunfish, the family we were staying with wanted to do a fish fry, and I had two other people on the boat. I did have a rod with a spinnerbait, though, that I would use to fish for bass occasionally. Well, anyway, I had just had a fish take my bobber down, I set the hook, started reeling him in, and then out of nowhere this huge fish splashes out of the water about 20 feet away. So I hand my rod to my friend, who brings in the small bass I had on, and fired my spinnerbait into the wake of the splash. A few cranks of the reel handle and then my lure got stopped cold. I fought him in and, like so many people do, I didn't have a scale with me. My friend said it was the biggest bass he'd every seen, and we both agreed it was somewhere in the neighbourhood of 4 pounds. He told me to keep her for the fish fry, but there was no way I was eating my pb, so I let her go. Caught another nice 2 pounder later that night. Fun time.
  22. I did live in MN for 7 years, so I have experienced cold weather. Short and sandals? We broke out the swimming trunks anytime it got past 0! But that was 7 years ago, I'm now a southern softie .
  23. Northern prejudice? 34 degrees for NC is pretty cold.
  24. Figured. It's been freakin' cold in NC, too.
