  1. Heard this just now. Now that's some preparation!
  2. Someone told me when I bought my first combo 3 months ago not to skimp on quality for the reel. A cheap rod can be made do with, but a get a good reel. I know it's too late for you now, but you'll probably be upgrading soon, so keep that in mind.
  3. Dang it, it's only open to people over 21. ("Dad, will you come over here?" "mom too, it's an emergency!" lol)
  4. This might help: http://www.bassresource.com/fishing/swimbait_gear.html
  5. Now that is funny!
  6. My spring list includes: -Red lipless crankbaits -Spinnerbaits -Senkos -Lizards -Flukes -Craws -Walk-the-dog bait. -Rebel Minnow -Lucky Craft Kelly J or another prop bait for over the beds. I have all of those so far except flukes, lizards, and some red Rat L Traps, which I'll be getting soon. Those should cover your bases.
  7. Can't speak to the sensitivity to either the Graphite Series or the Tourney Special, but the in hand feeling/weight is pathetic IMO. Feels chunky. I would go with a Abu Garcia Vengeance. Picked one up on sale for $30.00 last year and love it. The Lightening also seems like a better option than those two.
  8. The only "fun" job I've had is mowing with a ride mower, which I really do enjoy. But that probably doesn't count.
  9. The only true "clear water" I've been on was the private lake where I caught my pb. It was crystal clear, purest water I've ever seen. I threw a 1/8 oz. chartreuse/white spinnerbait all week and got crushed.
  10. If you're wacky rigging a bait, such as a senko, you can always save it once it gets worn out and texas-rig it. Same with t-rig/wacky.
  11. If you already have a Loomis rod (or 15, for that matter), do us broke people a favour and don't enter .
  12. That's a great way to get then"most liked thread of all time" of all time. I'm stoked!
  13. http://www.dickssportinggoods.com/product/index.jsp?productId=12401055&cp=4406646.4413993.4414792 Spiderwire Venom Bag for $32.97 Okuma Stratus CS spinning reel for $24.97. That's 45 percent off! http://www.dickssportinggoods.com/product/index.jsp?productId=11905239&cp=4406646.4413993.4414792
  14. Above are some reasons why it's just fine to be wacky about wacky. Nice job!
  15. Great fish. I caught my 4# pb on a spinnerbait.
  16. What's your channel?
  17. Like this comment if you think Dwight should get a GoPro. I'd sub to your channel, man!
  18. For steeper banks and woody areas I'll bring a backpack, just easier to work with. For more open ponds I use a bag. I have plano boxes with hard baits/terminal tackle/wire baits/jigs, a plano box with my go-to plastics, and three large ziploc bags with soft plastic bags stuffed in them: one for worms, one for craws/creature baits, and one for flukes/swimbaits.
  19. I believe it's the Veritas bag, and I'm too lazy to go look. But you can find out easily.
  20. Looks siiick!
  21. I've done it creek fishing before but never from a pond or lake. I do know someone who fell in and it was so steep (and really slippery/muddy) at the bank that it took him 15 minutes of clambering onto the bank to get out.
  22. ^^^^ That's what I use.
  23. I tend to like a full sized trailer better. Just my two cents.
