  1. When the B.A.S.S. Elites visit Toledo this next month, what techniques do y'all think will be dominating? Is the grass bite good enough to sustain a win or will it be won offshore?
  2. I ended up gaining a decent amount of points and am currently sitting in 60% percentile. Not anywhere near where I want to be but I have a good feeling about toledo bend . Ike and Ott Defoe saved my team, and Jason Williamson had an okay finish in 21st. Still can't believe Wesley Strader zeroed on day two after sitting near the top with a 19 pound bag on day one....
  3. You are correct as always, my bad I also noticed that they really didn't let Ehrler have a lot of say. As far as the Classic is concerned, in the end, second place is nothing. But at the same time, these guys have sponsors that keep food on the table and they all deserve a chance to have some time up there on the final day. I'm not even sure if Ehrler even said a word. They pretty much swept Kennedy under the mat too.
  4. What a freaking amazing classic. I believe he's the youngest ever. Nine years older than I am and won a bassmaster classic. Unbelievable comeback.
  5. Just caught his first fish
  6. Any of you NC guys familiar enough with Falls Lake to give me some good bank fishing spots? I talked to a tackle shop owner yesterday and he gave me a couple good spots but any other suggestions are welcome.
  7. 4 of my guys in the top 16 unofficially. I'm still seeing Randy Howell and Hackney with 0 fish; I'd imagine they have a bag and are in a no signal zone.
  8. Combs just caught one! @J Francho yeah he said "believe it or not, they're all postspawn." Davy Hite said he thought one of them was prespawn, so I don't know.
  9. Ike has everything going for him - sacked them on the first day, and has a spot that should be replenishing day to day with these postspawn fish moving onto the channel swing. He's switched things up a little bit from his carolina rig and found something that's working - I really thing he's going to be a major contender on day 3. According to what I'm hearing, the guys up the lake fishing shallower aren't going to be able to do that three days in a row and have a chance to win. Could be wrong on that, but we may see those guys stumble tomorrow.
  10. Ike doing fantastic; love watching him on live. Strader is doing great as well. Ott Defoe and Jason Williamson are in the middle of the pack but doing decently. Keith Combs is struggling. I don't think he's out of a decent finish; if he can get rid of his demons and put 10 pounds in the boat then I know he's capable of a huge charge tomorrow. Great segment on Live just now about Iaconelli. He's always in the top five or the bottom five for a classic. He completely swings for the fences, and I've seen that before. He's so hungry for the win. That's why I wanted him on my team.
  11. Live starts in 8 minutes!!! This is quite possibly the most legendary lineup of live stream anglers we've had in the history of Bass Live. I haven't been so excited for a tournament in a long time.
  12. Last year I never released my picks because I was consistently within a close margin of winning the year but this year so far all I've done is suck. So here are my picks. I throw everything out about dark horses for the Classic. The field is so small I don't like to take risks. A. Combs We've seen the Classic won by locals the last two years; Combs is another Casey Ashley or Edwin Evers. Bassmaster calls his relationship with Conroe a "love affair" and it's an accurate description. He's won two Toyota Texas Bass Classics here against the best of the best. I can't go against him here. B. Iaconelli I have a love/hate relationship with Ike for fantasy fishing - I picked him in 2015 for the Classic and he did terribly. But he is a Classic competitor in that he's hungry for another win and he knows how to win the classic, to swing for the fences and get it done. He puts in an incredible amount of research and homework for each classic. He's done extremely well on Conroe before and finished second to Combs in one of the TTBCs. C. Ott Defoe The man is on a roll and he has an extremely consisten record of high placing finishes in the Classic. D. Jason Williamson I didn't like this bucket; but Jason has been doing very well for the first couple Elite events and I forsee a good tournament for him. E. Wesley Strader. FLW hammer; a lot better than the E bucket would suggest. Best of luck fellas!
  13. I would imagine the spawn will be either in full swing or just dying by the time they get there. It should prove to be an interesting tournament, but I know there are lots of big bass in the lake so we should definitely see some 8+ class fish cross the scales.
  14. Every single youtube video I've watched of people fishing conroe, they're fishing the same bridge. It's a bridge that reminds me of the one that Howell won the 2014 Classic on. That spot is going to be hit so hard haha.
  15. Naw I'm in there, when I created my account I was a huge Iaconelli fan so I think my username is "ikefanhere" or some crap like that. Ended up in 47th percentile. Looking back, do I wish I had picked Tharp and Hackney? Yeah, but then again I swung for the fences this tournament and played "go hard or go home." I went home and I'm picking up the pieces for the classic. Might do better to just do a random generator for all my luck on Okeechobee haha. I think I played the game of overanalyzation for this last one. I found this really neat website that has a statistics on every angler you can think of so I did a ton of background research and was convinced that all my picks had a great chance of a top 50. That's fishing for you. For the classic, remember that the field is cut almost in half - maybe not quite. But having a guy in the top 50 is nothing. If your picks don't end up 25th place or better, it's a poor showing. Good luck on this next one guys!
  16. Make sure to kip on those pullups, represent Reebok strong on the podium, and munch down on those Clif Bars afterwards!! Just kidding man, good luck on the tournaments. I can't be talking crap about Crossfit, since I don't have access to a gym right now, my workouts look a lot more like crossfit than regular bodybuilding.
  17. Honestly, to me when the guys go "threw a THIS BRAND LURE all week long. Didn't get those good bites to make the cut but sure had fun with THIS BRAND lure" it's lame. Just admit you didn't catch them and move on lol.
  18. Screw my team lol. I'm going fishing tomorrow instead of watching Bassmaster live...if I catch one 14 incher I'll have done more good than all the five guys I picked put together
  19. Jesse Tacoronte was in 78th or something like that yesterday, he's now leading in 1st place. Goes to show that a couple bites can make or break your tournament here.
  20. I'm not scientific enough to know the reasons why bass are attracted to the rage bugs vs craws, but they're both fantastic baits that you can't go wrong with. The Bug is a great flipping bait due to it's compact profile. Durability is not good, but that's par for the course with Rage baits.
  21. Words cannot explain how badly I bombed today haha!
  22. BassTrakk is a bad dream right now......gosh
  23. Lake is fishing tough rn...not sure how accurate BassTrakk is for all the anglers but we shall see at weigh-in time. One bite on Okeechobee could launch somebody 30 places in the standings.
  24. Alright guys time to spill the secrets to the world!! haha, nothing too special over here for me... A. Keith Combs: Combs is one of the most incredibly talented and consistent anglers on tour. If you look at his records over the last few years, he is amazingly consistent and high ranking. He's one of my picks for AOY this year. Couple that with a fantastic track record in Florida and his love for heavy bags and slugfest tournaments and he was an easy pick for me at like what, 3% ownership? People I passed over: Jordan Lee and Matt Herren were my two other dark horse picks for the bucket. I feel that they will both do well, but I had to go with Combs. B. Terry Scroggins: I like to have a couple locals on my roster if the type of fishery gives locals an advantage. I figured he would at least make the cut, and I need some safe, cut anglers to ensure a good standing after this tournament. I forsee a good event for Scroggins. My other dark horse pick for this bucket was Gerald Swindle, who does well on Florida lakes and is an "A bucket" class angler. C. Edwin Evers: Another guy you don't usually see outside of the A bucket. I think that he has the potential to do well here. He almost won the Lake Havasu tournament flipping and pitching grass. I remember watching him on live. He definitely has the skillset to jack up some big O fish here. This was the bucket I almost caved in and went with the popular picks, aka Monroe or Hackney. Depending on where I am in the standings, I sometimes allow myself one popular angler per event. Decided not to this time. D. Koby Kreiger: Same deal as Scroggins. Local advantage sometimes kills you, but this was another one in whom I'm hoping for a top 50 at least. I can't remember who else I wanted in this bucket...I think it was Blaylock? E. Chad Morgenthaler: To me Morgenthaler is the best pick I got for this tournament...he was under 2% ownership, but this dude is a HAMMER in Florida, especially on Okeechobee. Multiple wins and this is his favorite stlye of fishing and favorite lake. I did want to go with Drew Benton, but had to pick Morgenthaler. I consider him a steal. Dark horse strategy for this one. Hoping it pays off, and good luck to you guys!!
