  1. I wouldn't say I prefer them but pond fishing can be a lot of fun. Really makes no difference to me to be honest. If its a good spot with a good atmosphere then that is the bottom line for me. But some of my best fishing has been in small ponds so I am definitely fond of them.
  2. It always amazes me when bass do this. A good percentage of the Bass I catch with spoons it is like that. Spoon hits the water and that initial flutter, or even just that initial splash is all it takes before a bass has grabbed it up.
  3. Awesome fish! I love catching me some pickerel The wind was awful this past weekend. Sat the wind was annoying but Sun it made for unfishable conditions. Very frustrating. Cool pics though!
  4. I am. he's one of the great wrestlers of all times and love his character in Princess bride which is another of those movies I can always watch. Miracle max " but he said tooo blave!!!" lmao I say that all the time
  5. I could list a 100 favs when it comes to movies but some of them are Bluesbrothers, pumping iron, they live, jeremiah johnson, Rocky ( all but number 5 ) the shootist
  6. Always nice to see a big bass from the garden state. Awesome fish^5
  7. a vintage zebco spincast and I don't even remember what model it was? The one with the big a** donkey tooth button on it to cast. I named it " the perch catcher " But when I played little league baseball there was a stream behind the field in the woods and I found a worn out shimano combo somebody just left there. That was my first decent combo
  8. Thanks man!
  9. Clyde the glide would agree about the sharing is caring :-P But you're so right. At many of the spots I fish at, its rare to find any other guys fishing and releasing their catch. A place like that you would have a whole lot of guys sitting in lawn chairs with their worms and bobbers looking to catch dinner 7 days a week in the nice weather.
  10. beautiful fish bro and definitely the kind of catch worth having a vid of! The best bass fishing I have ever done was in a smaller pond than that
  11. Many of the actual Blues legends reference fishing or just straight up write songs about it. So there is something about fishing and the Blues that is connected. And bank fishing is all I do and It is extremely peaceful. Love that pic btw. Looks like an awesome fishing spot
  12. You called it Mike2841! Thanks again for the tip buddy.. Had a dentist appt today and afterwards I hit the lake. Yesterday was super windy and stirred up the water real good. Couldn't get anything to bite on the usual stuff so I decided to fish a super fluke which I have only tried a couple times briefly. I stick mostly with tiny flukes. Well I was bringing it in and was pulling it thru some weeds and seen a big fish get stirred up and I thought I disturbed a carp. I moved over onto this high point and was bringing my fluke in and a fish hit and ran across the small area of the lake I was in. I had my ultralight rod and 6lb line and I knew that fish would be a fight! Well as I went to fight it, nothing was on my line :-/ I reeled in my lure and adjusted the hook. I cast back out to the same spot and tried to work my fluke thru the same path and sure enough it hit my fluke again and this time I hooked it good. That fish was strong! It ran a couple times and was pulling line off my reel each time. I finally got it to shore and this is the biggest pickerel I have ever caught and one of the funnest fish I have had the pleasure to fight.
  13. Great pickerel fishing in NJ
  14. That is roughly the average at some spots I go to but depends where I go. Down in south jersey my grandma lives right off a lake that is loaded with pickerel but 1-2lbs is probably the average there. At another place I fish they average 2lb and up and I have seen some big boys pulled out of there. I pulled one out today.
  15. Its a week 7 game, lets not get crazy
  16. Eli has been very turn over prone. I've been very critical of him the past few years. But at the same time our O line has been an unmitigated disaster. In the NFL a bad O line will make any QB look bad. Earlier this season we saw Brady looking very ordinary. People were saying he was shot. They have used I believe 6 different starting O line combinations and since it has stabilized Brady has looked like Brady. Eli can turn the ball over, but he can also be great. He's gotta have time the throw it though which he has not had a lot of in recent years
  17. Yeah it was the real giants last week. But they won't play that poorly every week. Look at last night. A team who is as mistake prone as any team you'll see at 1-5 out played the Pats in New England. Only the Jets could lose last nights game. In fact I don't think a team has controlled the ball that much and rushed for that many yards and lost the game in the history of the NFL. That is the NFL today. These teams all suck.. Do I believe the Giants have zero chance against the cowgirls? Of course not. Both teams are a bit beat up. The Cruz injury is big but Eli is capable of spreading the ball around if he has time. Dallas is beat up at the LB position so our pathetic O line might be able to provide some protection if they decide to play this week. It all starts and ends at the O line for dallas. Their O line has been dominant. They lost free and how that impacts them we shall see. And dallas has as many offensive weapons as any team. But the same people who said dallas would be lucky to win 5 games now have this team punching their tickets to the SB after not even 2 quarters of the season. Nobody and I mean nobody thought dallas would be even remotely close to good this year. Now after 6 games the band wagon is over flowing.lol Will I be surprised if the gmen lose? No I would not. Would I be surprised if the cowgirls lost? I would not.
  18. The cowgirls defense has been camouflaged by their running game. As long as they can keep running it like they have they can keep their D from getting completely exposed. Their offensive line took its first hit as well. Parker has taken the most reps in the slot so he may get the lions share but they can mix it up. Ruben needs to step up and he is capable. Giants are going to remind everybody that the cowgirls are scrubs.
  19. That's only because TG falls during the regular season
  20. Last winter in NJ we got more snow then I have ever seen in my life time. From New Years til March felt longer than any 10 winters I remember. It was depressing. What I have done is get out and fish even more this year so when the freeze hits at the very least I know I was out as much as possible and took advantage of the weather while I could. I will fish as long as the weather allows me and hopefully keep the down time from fishing to a minimum. I think only fishing can scratch that itch for me. all the other stuff like watching vids, reading books/mags ect..just makes it that much harder to wait for me. I hate winter..
  21. Lmao! If that is the average size bass you have been catching then you are doing something right! And I like the sound of 2lb and up being a nice catch in NJ. makes me feel better about all the 1-1.5lb bass I catch
  22. You can add in daily stretching to stretch your forearm/wrist flexors and extensors. Does not have to be anything crazy either. 15sec a couple times a day several days a week can be beneficial. Also roll out your forearms ( soft tissue work ). Both the medial and lateral aspects of them. You can use a cheap lacrosse ball which costs a couple bucks. There are massage balls as well which can feel really good. I have a spiky massage ball and a hard lacrosse ball and I alternate between the two. One is more soothing while the other works into the soft tissue much more aggressively. Both can help with overuse injuries and more importantly, they can help you avoid them in the first place. And be mindful of the other activities in your daily life. Some times we only focus on the activity we do that brings on the pain and discomfort but there are a number of factors that contribute to that which we overlook. For example, today many people spend a lot of time at a desk typing and with very poor posture. This can leave you jacked up and vulnerable to pain and discomfort in joints like the wrist ect..
  23. man I have a blast catching bass half that size. That is a darn nice catch in my book
  24. Awesome bass bro!
