  1. I've got 3 of them and they are awesome reels for the price.
  2. Some Lake Conroe Donkeys. Bro in law. Some Lake Conroe Donkeys continued
  3. Met Zona at the expo. He could not have been any nicer. Not only to myself but to any fan who approached him. Really enjoyed his coverage of the classic as well.
  4. Not sure how much time you spend fishing each time out? But the more time you can spend fishing the better off you'll be both in the short and longer term. Always wear a good pair of polarized sunglasses so you can see fish. When it comes to bank fishing, I like to find places that are as accessible from the bank as possible. Often times the more water I can cover the better. Some fishing holes just lend themselves better to bank fishing than others. Try and find those spots.
  5. Good for you. Getting bigger and stronger will help you in every aspect of life. Eat big, lift big, and become a barbarian.
  6. If I don't use something with minimum 20% deet and spray myself real good with it, I will get ticks at some of the places I fish. I don't leave home without repellent when I go to those spots. It seems to do the job. I check myself good when I get home to. If you do have a tick on you carrying LD, the faster you get it off you the better the chances are you don't get sick.
  7. Nice stripers! They give you a heck of a fight
  8. I was just there end of March and the temps were pretty nice. Cool in the mornings and evenings but 60's and 70s through the day. It was super windy though and that lake was a giant soup bowl. I have family who lives on that lake and there is no way I am missing this.
  9. Yup right now. I caught the bass in my avi night fishing last week
  10. I hit a couple golf course ponds last week and it sounds like we had a similar type of day. Nothing big, but one flapper after another. Sure is fun ain't it!
  11. My sister and bro law flew in for the holiday so we all did some fishing. My bro law was most interested in trying to catch a salmon because he never has had an opportunity to fish for them. So we went with medium shiners and a split shot rig. My sister caught this salmon not long after we got set up. She had a huge birds nest and after it all got cleaned up it turns out a fish was on the line. The legend of the salmon lives! This bass inhaled the hook. A littler work but we got it out no problem and the fish was on its way good to go Tyler caught his first pickerel ever. They don't have these where he is from. It started squirming and he threw it back in lol We put some weight on plenty of pickerel on this day. They were taking shiners left and right The legend lives
  12. Exactly. I usually bring a casting combo and spinning combo to spots like that and some spots the casting combo works best. Other spots the spinning combo works best. But to just try to use the casting combo for the entire day in spots like that is an exercise in futility.
  13. My routine is simple and much like others who posted theirs. I keep everything on my person I may need. I always have hookouts, and if it is an instance where I can't remove the hook or hooks quickly and easily by hand, they can. When I get the fish close enough I grab it or net it, remove the hook, snap a pic or two and back it goes. It is a bang bang process and I almost always fast draw mcgraw it. If you stay prepared and have a routine, each fish you catch you can work on making the whole process smoother and easier. If you do that then in no time you'll have it down so you can do what you gotta do and still have that fish back in the water so fast that it doesn't know what hit it.
  14. Caught this at a pond I have only fished a few times. It runs right along a quarry I fish and it was very windy and I was having a tough go of it at the quarry. I figured I would jump over to the pond for a few which was much calmer. Caught this on a wacky rigged salty sinker.
  15. This series was sickening. The mets did just enough to lose in 3 of their 4 losses. In world series that have gone 5 games, no team has had a lead in the 8th inning or later in 3 of the 4 games they lost. Leave it to my Ny Mutts to be the first. This was about as brutal as it gets. Being owned by the braves in the 90s and some of those gut wrenching losses. The art howe era. Getting beat in 5 by the stinken yankees in 2000 it couldn't get any worse if you are a mets fan in the tri state area. Then the 2006 mets. That game 7 loss was the most painful of my life. I was a broken man after that game. Then 07 and 08 watching this team gag it up in historical fashion. You can only take so much pain and abuse from your sports team. I bleed orange and blue but this team has worn me out. I knew the mets had weaknesses and if their were any teams who could expose them I knew it was the pirates or royals. But our pitching got so hot I actually thought just maybe they could overcome all our issues. Overcome the fact that TDA with his noodle arm throws the ball like mackey sasser. That every walk and single is a double and if they want a triple! The fact that our infield D can be atrocious at times. Murphy with his brain cramps, wright with his rag arm, wilmer who has limited range. And in this series we saw it all. Outside of our pitching and grandy man, we saw the pre trade deadline mutts. Collins was horrendous in this series. He made decisions that mets fans will never be able to comprehend. Just look at the way chris young was used in game 1. That is managing to win. Then look how familia was used and that is managing to lose. I could go on and on. And the royals made plenty of mistakes. But the types of teams they are, their is more room for error for the royals.
