  1. Thanks for the warm welcome ya’ll!
  2. Her and I actually met through some mutual friends opening day of dove season 8 years ago. So while she’s very outdoorsy, no, she doesn’t know what she’s got herself into 😂
  3. Hey! Apparently I’m not new to the forums buts it’s been a good 10 years since joining. I used to fish a lot and got out of it with life getting super busy as I got older with work. But the wife and I just went on a trip for our second anniversary and stayed on the Hiwassee River in Tennessee. She told me while we were here I ought to go grab some stuff and try fishing again. Obviously she wasn’t aware of the monster she was waking up but I’m hooked and looking to get back into fishing more seriously. Anxious to see what has changed, if anything, while I have been out of the game. Hope to make some friends and learn some things here. ~ Bob
  4. I'd have to say either Iaconelli or here lately I'd like to fish with Mark Daniels. Started watching him on circuit breaker and been following him on social media also, just seems like a real cool guy that would be fun to fish with.
  5. I use 12 pound invisx for my cranking, I tried and liked the sunline sniper also but none of the stores around me stock it so I have to order it. I really like the invisx and it is more readily available if something were to happen and I needed some and its never given me any trouble.
  6. There is no way I would have the self control to let unopened boxes of tackle sit in the same room as me.
  7. I have the dark gray and black camo long sleeve shirt I bought last year. I absolutely love it and have gotten more of them since. But to answer your question I am very comfortable wearing mine even on the hottest days. Theyre vented also which helps them breathe very well.
  8. Just got my box of my rico blems and trebles today along with some new split ring pliers... Had a box come last week from the black Friday sale also that had some new squarebills and lipless cranks I have been wanting to try as well as some Plano 3707's. I also stocked up on my Missile Bait tomahawks and destroyers during the sale
  9. Our boat has an '89 Black Max 175 which is a little newer but maybe my problem will help a little. The power trim started acting up while on a fishing trip so I couldn't do much about it then but once we got back I got the boat out to the shop and started troubleshooting the wiring. Our problem ended up being the switch in the throttle control, we could only trim down, however it would let us trim up once in a while. All the other switches (at the motor and and the front of the boat) worked fine. I just need to find a switch or throttle control with the switch in it now. Just a thought to next time it isn't working with the switch you could always bypass the solenoid momentarily with a short piece of wire just to see if it will work that way, if it does your problem is likely electrical. And not with the pump side of the system.
  10. Had a new F&S open up about 20 minutes away from me which is awesome for me but bad for my bank account. Got these today for $24. They had a bogo 50% off and the cashier had a coupon she scanned on top of that so I figure I made out pretty good. Also got a Tatula last weekend which I really enjoyed fishing with.
  11. I got to use this method in July down in Missouri, it worked great. Read this article when I first joined and bought a pair of forceps I had been carrying with me just for this. Other guys in the boat thought I was crazy at first but really thought it was a cool trick afterwards to. Thanks for the knowledge!
  12. Been looking at the squarebills and after reading your guys reviews I might have to buy 1 or 2.... or 10...
  13. I caught most of my fish and my bigger ones on a missile baits destroyer in watermelon red fleck Texas rigged bringing it through brush out front of docks, yoyoing on the branches. I had some pretty good luck also pitching a Texas rigged senko in straight black up to the front of boat stalls as close to the dock floats as possible and just letting it pendulum back to me. I had the senkos soaked in hog tonic. But my best and hardest bites came off the destroyer. I also stuck a few on laydowns on a black and blue Sieberts dredge brush jig with a rage chunk trailer.
  14. I just got back from Lake of the Ozarks and I ended up hooking into a garbage bag that was about half full of trash while I was cranking....never been so disappointed haha My dad ended up pulling up a pair of swimming goggles dragging a worm on the bottom but that's about the two weirdest things we have pulled up.
  15. Well guys I'm back from my week of fishing. Want to thank all of you for taking thw time giving me the advice you did. Got some decent fish after I found the bait they wanted the most that week and I got to test out my new rain gear haha. We did most of our fishing close to the resort due to some issues we had but all in all it was a good week of fishing and not being at work. Thanks again, Bob
