  1. Yep its fall! We had a similar day last weekend and all my fish but one came on a spro clear chart arukashad trap. I dont think Ive ever fealt that confidence about any single bait before. They just couldnt resist it
  2. And the best DS bait ive ever used is a roboworm straight tail worm or alive shad in Aarons magic. I live in upstate NY if that speaks to anything
  3. Im gonna be the voice of reason right now and just say dont use a tungsten weight unless you got money to throw into the lake. When you drag that weight uphill its boumd to get hung up
  4. Trokar t130 works pretty well for awhile. I have found the hook point will out live the bait keeper. Eventually it will start become looser over time and spin but thats after a solid season and the hooks themselves cant be beat IMO
  5. Paca chunk all day every day. I never down size or throw a "super" chunk
  6. Try the same thing the next day
  7. I caught a LC pointer on a drop shot on a Lake Onieda shoal last month somehow. Its in table rock shad and cleaned up like new with some new hardware and stingers. I wanted to share the pic but it was too large apparently
  8. If you fish it as a minnow which is what I call what you are reffering to then no difference. The fish will have sound and vibration to hone in on. Sorry for the confusion, I refer to jerkbaits as a "jerking" bait.
  9. I will tell you that the color watermelom crawfish is IMO the best color for high light conditions. It is green but has an orange belly which I believe is very beneficial in a top water. At night I throw junebug and in low light I like the yellow/black swirl. I like a owner center pin twist lock open gap hook in a 5/0. At times it can be tricky to get it to run right side up. The key is to "canoe" the bait or in other words the the bait needs to have a slight bow in it like the shape of a boat. This is achieved by putting the hook point as far back as you can on the bait. Almost in between the legs. Dont forget, let the fish have it for a few seconds. Hes not gonna spiy it out. Once you feel like the fish has a good grip on it, swing for the fences!
  10. Simply said IMO jerkbaits are a sight bait. A rattlin crank might do you better in that situation.
  11. Great rods! When I turn over my rods next time I am either going dobyns or tfo
  12. Good luck and come pick me up on the way lol. Great place to visit but terrible to live unless you enjoy 40 below zero
  13. The fishing in waddington is ok, but stats will show that a tourney in waddington can easily be won with a run to once again henderson harbor and that whole area of ontario. Happened last year at the st lawrence showdown (elites)
  14. Always have one rigged up. They are a northern smallie fishermans weapon of choice for anything less the 10 fow. 15lb give or take flouro. Worm amd jig type rod actions will work just fine. Reel, well thats personally preference, I would prefer to have a reel I can take up slack for a charging fish if i was you. Atleast 6 1/2 or faster. 1/4 tube jighead will work 99% of the time.
  15. Aarons magic, sexy shad
  16. Absolutly! Most of my smallies this year have come on either a DS or texas rigged craw like a paca or chigger on main lake points though. It was well a "different kinda year"

  19. Roboworms, standard worms and aliveshad. I like aarons magic color. Will ususlly out fish guys I fish with atleast 2 to 1 when they are using something else and right before they ask for a worm lol
  20. Oh and btw if you head to onieda, take it easy until you laybdown a safe track. The lake in know as a lower unit killer. It is marked pretty good but there are plenty of suprise shoals, especially on the north central part of the lake. You can get in trouble quick
  21. Henderson harbor (ontario bay) is famous for double fisting big smallies 6 and 7 lb plus. Brandon palinuck smoked thee competition there last year. Onieda is a really fun droo shot and point jigging, jerkbaiting lake with nice fish in good numbers. Champlain holds nice LM. If it was me, I would head upstate to lake ontario bays

  23. Hi all, Dark3 here. Some may recognize me from other boards. Glad to have signed up. Alot of good info here. I am a SSG in the army and am currently up at Drum in upstate ny which is drop shot smallie 'ville. I have thouroly enjoyed pulling footballs off of shoals of the st lawrence river, ontario bays, and oneida lake. Its time for me to head back down south to fort benning in november. Looking forward to being closer to BIG LM and closer to the majority of the bass fishing community. I love jdm everything. I like to buy sell and swap. Feedback: I was lured in (no pun intended) from combing your classified boards and agree with the philosophy of buyer beware and no post restriction. Obviously Im biased lol. Thanks guys, and eufala fish better be in their guard, im coming!
