  2. ton of ppl here have canoes or just plain shore fish. honestly this is one of the best fishing forums i have come across.
  3. sorry to hear that. i have been robbed before and know the feeling. dot stress what you cant control it only makes things worse. but id suggest scoring craigslist within 100 miles radius of you. any markings on them to identify? best f luck to yoi

    Ms Slammer

just ordered my first MS Slammer and am happy to be joining the club. i got the MS Slammer original in bass color. must admit im pretty excited to get it. although now im gonna be super nervous throwing it. will have to try and stay away from pikeral ponds i guess!
  6. thanks for the replies and tips. i figured it was all the same to the fish except its easier for them to see the target on a full moon clear night. my trip out that night didnt produce like it did 2 nights previous. the bass werent biting, or atleast not what we were throwing at them. the trout however seemed to be the feeding fish for the night my fishing partner and I both caught some rainbow trout on shallow crankbaits 12" max diving. it was cool as this was the first trout ever for me.
  7. thx. not sure why no one suggested i stay away from the 3 oz baits with this rod and use the smalled 1oz guys
  8. So im about to head out for some for night fishing. and was curious for day time overcast is nice but when cloudy at night is the bite as good? or is it better with a full moon? tonight its supposed to be cloudy but im gonna go anyways since its windy all day everyday except at night lately. when you all plan a night fishing trip what do you look for? and what waters do you prefer to fish at night?
  9. ok well clearly this setup isnt going to handle decent swimbaits.so i need to find a better setup.
  10. i got a MH 7 flueger 5.2.1 M 6 6 with an abu stx20 5.1.1 both are spinning gear
  11. yes that comment was a joke. i had the rod previously and im trying to make use of it, i fish from a canoe so i dont need anything bigger. im a complete noob to swimbaits and baitcasters hence why i am here asking. i posted all that so you all knew exactly what im using in hopes some of you would correct me and steer me in the right direction.
  12. 1 to 3 oz baits sorry
  13. try soaking it in vinegar that crap works for everything
  14. what line do you all use for 1-3 oz hard jointed swimbaits? i just picked up a abu garcia silvermax-L2 from dicks sporting goods. (hoping its better than the bass pro tourney special) i bought 12lb flouro clear to spool it with. not sure if i should put a few yards of braid backer and use 100 yds off floro or just use 50 ft of floro. any suggestions? my complete setup is an abu garcia vengence M 6' 6" with an http://www.abugarcia.com/Abu-Garcia%C2%AE-Vengeance%C2%AE-Casting-Rod/1365011,default,pd.html#q=vengeance&start=1 abu garcia silvermax-L2 http://www.abugarcia.com/Abu-Garcia%C2%AE-Silver-Max-Low-Profile/1285321,default,pd.html and clear 12lb florocarbon http://www.***.com/Sufix_Invisiline_Castable_Fluorocarbon/descpage-SCF.html
  15. small fish is till learning. its cool to hear your challenging yourself with different baits and presentations. its how we all learned. best of luck to you!
  16. i also glue a few to hooks the night before i go out fishing so it gets good drying time
  17. i have recently started doing this with the lake fork plastic swimbaits. it makes a bait last forever! just make sure you get rubber cement/plastic model cement and a fast drying one. super glue didnt work. trust me once you do this glue will become part of your tackle box
  18. could it be from not putting the line on tight? i know i didnt when i first used braid and when i set the hooks it knotted up inside the reel. wasnt a huge nest like a cast but was bad enough.
  19. im curious as to hear what all of you use for swimbait. what line, reel, rod stiffness? im currently shopping for a swimbait setup. im confused as im unsure if i should get a fast or slow reel. ill be using multi jointed 6" 1 1/2 oz swimbaits and i also have a few that are 9" 6 oz swimbaits. should that be two seperate rods? what lines? thanks for reading
  20. for me the term swim bait means hard bodied multi jointed bait with trebble hooks. the others i refer to as plastics but yes i agree it is confusing.
  21. i use power pro braid as well. look for the super silk ( if you dont already have it) you will love it even more great fish!

  23. Is their a specific seasons or weather patterns that dictate the lure you throw? myself i throw what ever i have at the time
  24. Hey All im from south eastern Mass. and finally got a flat bottom boat and a gas motor. which allows me to fish larger water without fear of other rigs swamping me. my problem is, im a pond fisherman. used to fairly small ponds that are no more than 10 feet deep. I just fished my first largest body of water this week , S, Watuppa pond in fall river ma. its 3.5 miles long with 1 1/2 miles wide at its widest point. it has flowing water from its mother pond across the street which is off limits due to drinking water. i dont have any electronics so it makes this body even tougher to figure out. my question is, if you were in my situation what would you do first? explore and cast to feel the bottom rather than concentrating on pulling fish. or would you fish the shore line? their is a decent array of fish here, Large mouth, small mouth, perch, crappie, tigger musky, bullhead, walleye i posted a few links bellow. the last link is a google map. the orange locater is the north watuppa which is off limits. i am fishing the south watuppa. thanks for reading http://www.mass.gov/eea/docs/dfg/dfw/habitat/maps-ponds/dfwswatu.pdf http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Watuppa_Ponds https://www.google.com/maps/place/Watuppa+Pond,+Massachusetts/@41.6636161,-71.1353636,7279m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m2!3m1!1s0x89e4f9786c42a4fb:0x205bf880504748e4!5m1!1e4
