  1. X2 Now would someone please tell the fast food cashiers to hand out their change like that...
  2. For my home lake, once the water temp's drop below 60, the only responses I get to soft plastics are when I drop shot them. It is the only time of the year for me that jigs produce consistently and wacky rigged Senko's do not. Once the water climbs back above 61 or 62, Texas rigged plastics and wacky rigged Senko's rule the roost. I know not every lake is like mine, but it seems like at the coldest temps the fish want something meaty & right in front of their nose.
  3. d**n, I didn't think of that, that would have been better. However, with Brady, isn't a fathead actually just life sized?
  4. A-Jay, you must be old enough to be able to tell when one is writing with their tongue planted firmly in their cheek. After all, Boston is home to Harvard, doesn't all that brainpower just leak into the streets to be absorbed by the townfolk?
  5. Thank you for proving my point. Making a claim that a certain city is the most narcissistic is not hateful, it is an opinion. Only when one is narcissistic & insecure do they believe that anything other than glowing praise is hate.
  6. So the old "it isn't cheating if you don't get caught" mentality, huh? That seems to be a theme in the New England area. In a New England bass tournament, do they count the weight of the metal cage you kept the bass in for the weeks prior to the tournament or do they just figure it will even out against the tungsten weights you shoved down the fishes gullet?
  7. I don't own a team, but it is nice to meet you Mr. Kraft. May I suggest a shirt color other than pink? And those white collars make you look like a priest. By 18 holes, you weren't referring to the womenfolk in your clan, were you?
  8. Spewing my hate? I disagree that Belicheat's Patriots are the greatest team of all time and that is spewing hate? I have said numerous times that his teams are good, probably in the top ten of all time, but since I don't march the party line of New England homers, I am accused of spewing hate? I believe the only hate out there is from Patriots fans towards anyone who dares challenge their notion that the greatest things in life all happen in Boston. Boston is one of the most narcissistic cities in the nation, closely rivaled by the Bay Area & Newport Beach on the opposite coast. When it comes to sports, the belief is that all great things in sports only occur when a Boston team is playing. When was the last time you heard a Steeler fan, a Spurs Fan or a S.F. Giants fan claim that other sports fans are "haters"? They don't, because they have a healthy perspective of sports & how people love their teams, attributes sorely lacking in New England. I was born & raised in Southern California. If I was a "hater" of Boston sports, why would I declare that the greatest NBA player was Bill Russell? Better than Kareem, better than Magic, better than MJ, better than Kobe. He played for a rival of my local team, but his ability to make his teammates better and win consistently made him the greatest in my opinion. Same thing when I vote for Joe Montana as the greatest QB of all time, along with Terry Bradshaw. I'm not looking at raw numbers, but rather leadership ability and making his teammates better. Montana used to come to SoCal every fall & beat the Rams, but I don't let that cloud my opinion of where I believe he sits all time. Sorry, Belicheat & Brady are not the greatest ever. You don't have to agree with me, but then you also don't have to project your insecurities on me either by calling me a hater. Just drink the Kool-Aid, snuggle up with your signature Belicheat hoodie and Brady blow-up doll and dream of their next Super bowl win. Because dreaming is as close as they are gonna get...
  9. Depends on the docks and what type of obstacles there are that a fish can wrap you around.
  10. Yes, they were never "caught" filming the other teams practices. They were at the Rams practice before the Super Bowl, they had video equipment, but for some reason, a tape of it never appeared. Amazing how the Pat's were able to defend the best offense in the league like no one else could. Then after the Rams realized they had been duped, Warner & company began scoring on that same impenetrable defense at will. You may buy Billy's account but the rest of the world is not so blind. Yes indeed, the cheating that the Patriots were caught at was different than what they did that Super Bowl. You have to give it to Belicheat, he is a master at finding different ways to cheat. Belicheat cheats and the Patriot homers run to his defense... And where in the world did I even come close to saying to be good you have to win it all? The Patriots under Belicheat have been good & they wouldn't have had to cheat to do that. They haven't been great since they were caught cheating, but that hasn't stopped Billy from trying out new ways to cheat. Some folks just have a psychological problem of having to cheat no matter what, similar to a wealthy woman shoplifting 10 bucks worth of perfume.
  11. The way that 85 Bears team won makes it hard to argue that they were not the best ever for a single year. It took a bunch of Marino bombs on a Monday night game (if I recall correctly) to stop them from going undefeated.
  12. Funny how the Patriots couldn't win a Super Bowl AFTER they were caught cheating, filming other teams practices. New England fans love to say that it wasn't that big of a deal, but once they weren't allowed to do it anymore, they became the Minnesota Vikings or Buffalo Bills of their generation. Very good team, just not the best one year after year after year. New England has been a good team the last decade, but how in the world can you classify them as THE dominant team when they haven't won a Super Bowl in that time period (the last decade)? The Bills were not THE dominant team in the 90's because they lost all 4 Super Bowls they went to. Like the Patriots, they were a very good team, just never the best team in any one year. I have never said the Patriots have not had a good team under Belicheat, what I disagree with is the assessment that the Patriot homers place them among the greatest ever. Nope, sorry, they don't fit. The greatest ever teams win every Super Bowl they go to. The greatest ever teams don't cheat and then pass it off as not a big deal. The Belicheat Patriots are a level or 2 below the greatest teams ever. Noll's Steelers & Walsh's 49ers were top of the heap, closely followed by Johnson's Cowboys & Lombardi's Packers. Belicheat's Patriots fall more in line with Shula's Dolphins or Landry's Cowboys. Except for the fact that Shula & Landry never got nailed by the league for cheating... In that case, knock Belicheats Patriots down one more rung to Maddens Raiders.
  13. Be sure to include those Super Bowl loses in the stats for Belicheat. He was able to accomplish another record, the only NFL team to go 18-1 and NOT win a Super Bowl. Those 3 Super Bowl wins a decade ago should have been vacated after Spygate...
  14. The fact that the Patriots didn't need to cheat makes it that much worse. They could have won straight up, but they had to follow the Boston tradition of cheating. They couldn't help themselves. Like the Auerbach led Celtics messing with opposing teams locker room and hotel or the Red Sox playing in that minor league craphole of a stadium, it is in the DNA of Boston sports teams to cheat. And for the record, the Belicheat Patriots couldn't hold the jockstrap of either the Noll Steelers or the Walsh 49ers. When those teams made it to the Super Bowl, they always won. Not so much for Billy & Tommy...
  15. I have had a few dreams where I am on a boat, trying to make a cast, when suddenly all of the water is less than 1" deep. No matter where I cast, the lure sticks out of the water & there aren't any fish anywhere. Same kind of frustration type dreams other people have had.
  16. If the pro I am with gets in a fight with another Elite angler, does that mean I have I have to fight the other marshal? Or is it a tag team event, where only 2 participants are (supposed to be) fighting at the same time? I am much better at being in the corner, yelling insults and then whacking my pro's opponent in the back with a Flippin' stick when no one is looking. Just call me Jimmy "Mouth of the South(ern California)" Hart. I will supply my own bullhorn...
  17. I am signed up to marshal for the Elite event on Lake Havasu in May. Based on the way the tournament season has started, it appears I will need to carry mace & a set of handcuffs in order to fulfill my duties. Any ideas on other changes I should expect as a marshal?
  18. What they left out of the video was how they caught 2 high school swimmers practicing for an upcoming meet as well as an old lady doing the backstroke...
  19. I own a home theater company (TV's, surround systems, other electronic toys), started it 18 years ago.
  20. I start out every outing as a jack of all trades and most of the time, the bass on my home lake turn me into a specialist. As someone else mentioned, even though I have a multitude of rods set up with different styles of baits, usually by the end of the day I am throwing the same two baits. Nearly 70% of the bass I caught last year on my home lake were on Texas rigged plastics and wacky rigged Senkos. The nature of the cover & structure on this lake lends these two baits to be most effective. I still will keep trying topwater baits, squarebills, lipless cranks, dropshots, but on my lake, they aren't as consistent. I will have 1 trip every 5 outings or so where one of those other methods will be the ticket, but usually it gets back to working the T-rig over deeper cover & skipping the Senko under the docks. I have found that the continued effort to try other methods pays off when I have travelled & fished other lakes.
  21. If martial arts is allowed, look out for spin kicks from the Japanese anglers...
  22. It looks like winter is over, at least in this neck of the woods. Water temps have climbed back to 60 degrees, air temps in the mid 70's with the same forecast for the next 10 days. The bass were definitely more active today, still out deeper, but beginning to move closer to their prespawn staging areas. It is unlikely we will see water temps back in the 50's until December. I really love a short winter...
  23. Zebco 33, with Walmart branded 4lb mono and an old, rusty hook. You will never land a fish, so every bite is a 10 lb. hawg that spooled you.
  24. My money is on Jordan, he could have easily won back to back collegiant titles.
  25. One on a hookset, still landed the fish. One on a snag about 20 feet up in a tree (don't ask). Yanked once, broke the rod. Pulled the line, broke the branch & it fell into the boat. One on a ceiling fan on a houseboat. One in a car door. It broke just the tip & I still wanted to fish, so I snipped the rod (a spinning rod) down to the next guide. Found that it changed the action of the rod slightly and the slightly shorter length worked well to skip Senko's under docks. Continued to use ol' no-tip to catch about 30% of my bass last year, all of my other rods are soooooooo embarrassed.
