if it's the newer model curado they list for $199 new. a good deal if well treated. if it,s the old style then i would personally pass.

colors do matter. maybe not to the level some think but they do matter. success will be affected greatly if the fish can't see the lure. stained water has colors that are more successful than others and it works the same for clear waters.

i have and will continue to use LC lures. i have about 25 and don't feel like i have wasted money on any of them. i also just purchased my 1st megabass lure (dog x or whatever it's called). the larger walk the dog bait. i've only had a chance to play with it so far but the action seems nice. about the rapala lures being expensive in japan....that has to do with many issues. availability, taxes and tariffs play a major role.

the RC cranks are supposed to run to a max depth of 4 ft. no matter what the size.

i would choose the LT over the IMX. that's my choice though. you should go somewhere and handle both of them and see which one you prefer.

i have several brands of reels (pflueger, quantum, garcia, and shimano). out of those i would recommend the shimano 1st.

That is where I differ in opinion. The Extreme rod at $99 , Bionic Blade at $79. and Cranking stick at $49 are The best rods IMHO at there price point and better than the majority of higher end named rods at or around $100-$150. (especially when the are now on sale for $69,$49, and $39) I have had the lower end "entry level" GL3 G.Loomis, rods they just plain out stink. Higher priced, and they just don't stack up to any of these BPS rods. I am not saying the BPS rods are on par with or better than a GLX or anything.............but in no way are they inferior to other rods that just have a "name" printed on them. feel free to have a difference of opinion but my j. morris, pro qualifier, and extreme do not equal the st. croix(legend tourny and elite) and kistler(helium lta) rods that i use. nor do the reels match up to the quantums(tour) and shimanos(curado) that i use. yeah there is a price difference but that is why i stated that they don't stack up to the other products that "I USE". once you start using a quality higher end rod many of the lesser expensive rods feel like you are fishing with a baseball bat.

i read an article that gave you 4 or 5 different ways gary fishes them and one of which was weightless....the others were weighted for deeper fishing and pitching.

i for one keep certain magazines for reference. i give away many others though. and as far as just reading on the net....nah. i'm not taking my laptop with me to work. i like the fact that i can sit back at lunch and flip through the pages of a mag and then just toss it in my bag when i'm done.

i should have stated earlier that while i don't have any "problems" with my BPS equipment they are not on the same level as the other companies products that i use(shimano,quantum,kistler,st.croix,etc.).

yeah that's kind of what i meant. i use sufix braid and it costs me in the neighborhood of $15 to spool my reel.

i get what you are saying but cutting and retying braid can get old.

i just happened to stop in gander mountain in fredericksburg this past saturday & picked up 4 more of them. i also picked up a new hart spinnerbait, rod sock, jig trailers, and berkley cross lok snaps.

a swimming senko doesn't replace a swimbait nor vice versa. they each have a time and place. they are 2 totally different lures. i like to throw it out and let it sink a few feet, give it a few twitches like a jerkbait and let it sit a second. then i'll reel it in several feet and repeat the process. i've also had great success swimming them through lily pads and such.

$40 doesn't go too far with the things that i want.

i've had my Morris sig. series rod & reel for almost 3 years and have had 0 problems out of it. i also have a pro qualifier combo and an extreme rod. the only BPS product that i have and don't like is the pro qualifier reel.
