  1. I try to adapt to conditions, but as I get older and older seems I fish slow baits a lot more - worms and jigs mostly. Last night in a club tournament at West Point I had over a dozen rods rigged and ready - and used exactly four. Drop shot from five pm to about six, buzzbait as it got dark, then jig and pig and Mag 2 worm the rest of the night.
  2. As said, current can turn the bass on. But the solunar feeding times have an effect, too. I have seen the bass turn on then back off right on time, especially on riprap and bridge pilings
  3. Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, Maryland, Alabama, Texas, Tennessee, Kentucky, Ohio, Iowa, Wisconsin, Missouri, FlorIda so far
  4. I put my plastics in 2 gallon zip loc bags, according to type, and lable them with an indelible marker. Also bring some fingernail polish in different colors - can add a dot of red or some other color or change the color of a crankbait quickly. Red fingernail polish saved a Top Six tournament for me years ago when the bass insisted the Rat L Trap have some red on it and I didn't have any with any red in my box!
  5. Two eBooks that I wrote are also on my phone. "Keys to Catching Clarks Hill Bass" and "Keys to Catching Lake Lanier Bass" are lake specific, with lake maps, GPS Coordinates and descriptions of ten spots to catch bass each month of the year. But the books also tell the baits the local expert uses on each hole, how they rig and fish them, and other information that gives you general tips on bait rigging and use for that time of year.. If you don't fish those two lakes the info on lures to use and how to fish them might be helpful to you. These two books are a compilation of Georgia Outdoor News articles called Map of the Month articles I have done for that magazine over the past 18 years. In them I go to a lake with a local "expert" from guides and pro fishermen to club fishermen to college team fishermen and others, and get the information.
