  • Location
Buffalo, New York, I read daily information on bass fishing and techniques.  What I do not understand is; "Why there are no magazines containing just shore fishing"?  98% of the people I know fish from shore...not a boat let alone a TRICKED OUT boat!  Just curious.

  1. Thank-You for letting me know. Mr. Uhl started out pretty good, it was a shame the magazine spiraled down. Tight Lines!! Jim
  2. Has Brad Uhl and Bass'n Magazine fallen into a pit in South America or ..... I have tried calling his office and emailing him....nothing. does anyone know what has happened? Jim
  3. Bruce 424, you just reminded me that I caught my first bass on a spinnerbait with that rod. ! Up to then, mostly bass fishing with spinning rod. Must be getting older,HaHa. Thanks for the info. Jim
  4. I have a 5 foot 6 inch pistol grip bait casting rod. Early nineties, I caught my personal best largemouth in less than 2 feet of water. I am a bank fisherman and am wondering, is it still useful? The long rods are the rage and have two myself but I was practicing yesterday and it just felt right. Any comments or words of wisdom? PB was on a six inch Mann's worm.
  5. Has anyone used the Mr. Twister "sassy shad" swim bait? I was reading an old Fishing Sacts magazine from March 1980 and there was a full page ad on the Mr. Twister sassy shad. I still use Mr. Twister curly tailed grubs, am just curious.
  6. I watch "Debo's" mainly. I am a bank fisherman and he very good and teaching , especially the "little tricks". Just an average fishing nut like the rest of us. By the way, I used some of the trick worm tips he suggested and my grandson caught his "PB", a two pound largemouth on my birthday!! Best present I ever received.
  7. Thank-You for giving me some good ideas. I figured 7 to 7'6" to be a good start.
  8. I have been practicing with an old quantum flipping/pitching 441 reel. the reel has always been comfortable in my haand an am wondering what type of rod should I get? I have an old pistol grip Berkely rod but am thinking a 7 foot meium heavy...any thoughts?
  9. I am interested in what type of trailers fishermaen are using with these spoons? Also, are you using a barrel swivel about a foot to 1 1/2 ft. up? Please let me know.
  10. Big Rick thanks tons. I will try the pause as you suggested. By the way, La. is definately on my bucket list...tight lines and best of luck!
  11. I recently purchased a Mister Twister Top Prop. I used it once and had several largemouth attack it. Anyone else have any luck? What color trailer were you using. I am using it tomorrow morning. Also, I noticed if you are fishing heavy weeds it works very well but not with the trailer hook. Just curious.
  12. I am currently using the KK royal elite...No problems what so ever. I am extremely satisfied with this reel. I believe if you follow the recommendations for the reel it will serve you well. I cannot believe the price but am still satisfied.

    hooks

Anywhere from a 4 -12 in worm usually. Plastic worms are a confidence bait with me. I try different approaches but when all else yields nothing, my old standby rises to the occasion, espcially when I fish the worm slow.

  15. Thank-You very much, I will give them a try.
