  1. I like War Eagle but have mostly been fishing spinnerbaits from Advantage Bait Company the last few years and love them. They are stupid expensive though for spinnerbaits.
  2. Thanks for all of the replies. The rod won't be done until mid September so I have a while.
  3. So i have always been a spinning rod guy but have come to realize that there are applications where a baitcaster would be much better. I am currently having 2 rods built and am considering having one built as a casting rod. It is a North Fork Conposite MB 705-1 blank, which is M/H fast 7.0ft. I am going to have to pair it with a reel and am hoping for suggestions on gear ratio and size. It will be primarily a buzzbait/spinnerbait rod. I'm hoping for something that is beginner friendly. As far as spinning reels go, I have been a Shimano guy most my life and am looking at a Chronarch and it feels nice, but again this is all new to me. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you all in advance. jeremy
  4. I would take it back. I have the 3000 and absolutely love it. The 100 should be no different.
  5. Congrats on the new rod. So I have been looking into getting an NRX demo and was told by a buddy of mine that their warranty does not apply to demo rods? Is his information false? I would love to add one to my lineup but would also like something with a warranty for that price
  6. Not caught with my rod. I was fishing with my dad last year just after he bought a new $200 anchor. After we got done fishing we went to pull the anchor and it was extremely hard. It took both of us to get it to the surface. Once we got it to the boat we saw that it was wrapped up in an old bed spring. I thought for sure that we were going to lose it.
  7. I prefer Booyah or Spro. I use my Spro poppin frog the most though.
  8. Hank Parker for sure. It seems like he would be a lot of fund to spend the day with.
  9. Thank you all very much for your help.
  10. I know this is a long shot but I am looking for a rod builder that is somewhat close to me. I had a rod built last year but the builder was not local and I would like to be more involved with this build. The last rod I had built was built on a Northfork HM blank and I am extremely happy with the quality of the rod so I will probably look at using the same blank. If anybody know somebody and could let me know that would be great. It seems everybody I find only builds fly rods. Thanks, Jeremy
  11. The lake that I fished the majority of the year was pretty good with the average being between 1.5 and 2 pounds and the biggest weighted in at just under. 6.5. I was disappointed that I was unable to get a tiger musky to the boat. I hooked a couple but couldn't get them in. Maybe next year.
  12. I have a few that were given to me from the Advantage Bait Company that are really nice. They are expensive though.
  13. I've never tried War Eagle but my buddy gave me some nice spinnerbaits made by the Advantage Bait Company and I love them. Problem with them is the price, they are pretty expensive.
  14. I am going to give it a shot. I'm hoping for a turnaround, lately I have been catching a lot of small ones. Hopefully tonight is the night for some bass magic.
  15. Wow, that is really cool.
  16. I have been thinking about doing videos myself. A buddy of mine likes to skateboard and he has something, I think it is called a soloshot??? He sets his video camera on a tripod and wears this bracelet. The camera follows him as he skates and films it all, it is really cool. I'm guessing they are pretty expensive though.
  17. I have caught quite a few with the same issues lately.
  18. I had 50lb for a while and was using it on my frog rod and I had no problems with it.
  19. I have a shimano cl4 3000 with 30lb braid on it now and it does great.
  20. That is a great looking fish, thanks for sharing. I wouldn't mind hooking in to something like that some day.
  21. I was bass fishing at my favorite fishing hole this afternoon when, what felt like a Mack truck hit my spinnerbait. After a bit of a fight I pulled in a 33 inch rainbow that had to have been about 8lbs. I tried to get a pic but it was just me and he had a lot of fight left I him. On top of that I don't know how I could have held it with 1 hand to get a pic without risking injuring the fish. Any suggestions would be great. I also caught 12 largemouth with 2 over 5lbs. It was a great day.
  22. I have been having a problem with them burying themselves in the weeds and getting loose.
  23. I really need to make it down to Florida. There are a lot of fish I could knock of the bucket list in that one trip.
