  1. Like a broken record.. I'm 23 and prefer my st croix avids with the full cork...
  2. I have always used 15lb flouro for my main line, never had issues with it (as far as break offs) to force me to go any higher. Just make sure u check your line every few casts to make sure it hasn't started to fray. If so, retie!
  3. I will agree with the others... It really doesn't matter. But if it helps any, I throw my flukes on my chronarch 50e with great success.
  4. Yes that is exactly what I use mine for. If I step up to a 3/8 oz jig, I grab the mh, but for the range u suggested I stick with the medium. It always has something tied on because it is so versatile.
  5. My suggestions would be the 7' mf avid, very versatile Rod. Highly reccomended.
  6. I use Rem Oil personally. Good stuff, readily available.
  7. Awesome. Can't wait to get it spooled up and used. I just wasn't sure how it handled in high torque situations, such as spinnerbaits and square bills etc
  8. Hey everyone, I am super excited that I just picked up a shimano core and need suggestion as to what to use it for. What's is the best use for it? What line should I put in it? Btw it is a 6.2:1 gear ratio.
  9. Use invisix. It's like night and day when it comes to spinning.
  10. I am waiting for one too. I am having one sent to me through warranty claim due to my gen 1 snapping on my first trip out. I hope these new ones are better...
  11. Quality. I wasted a lot of money the past couple years buying quantity when I should have just started with a couple quality setups.
  12. I recommend a 7'1 MF *** Black. Great all around spinning rod for the money. Like others have said get yourself a 2500 or 3000 size spinning reel, with 15-20 lb braid and adjust you leaders (flouro or mono) accordingly and you will be able to cover almost all techniques out there.
  13. x2... I have an older Kistler Magnesium TS Crank, Rattle, and Roll model... Its a 7' MHM. Perfect for Square Bills. Also doubles nicely as a topwater, spinnerbait, heavy jerkbait (pointer 100s and vision 110's). Highly reccomend it. Dont let the Kistler warranty scare you. Great rods for the money. As far as St. Croix's, I have a 7' MF Avid, which is also a good Square Bill rod. The fast action is great for fishing around cover. In my opinion, you cant go wrong with either!!!
  14. I'm actually interested too, I have the same issue with my Chronarch 200e5
  15. St. Croix Avid 7' MF paired with a Shimano Chronarch 200E7. I got the reel at Bass pro and the Rod off a fellow member. Awesome combo, I can throw just about anything on it....top water, spinner bait, square bill, lipless, light jig/trig, etc. the list goes on and on.
  16. I am a huge fan of McCoy. I use their Mean Green and their Xtra Clear. I haven't had a problem with either! Great line, American Made!!!
  17. I highly recommend frog toggs, specifically the Pilot line. Awesome suit.
  18. 15 lb flouro is my go to line when I am pitching t-rigs around light cover and open water. I do not use spiderwire. Not the greatest experience with it. I prefer Seaguar Invisix. Red label is good too if money is an issue.
  19. Siebert and Dirty Jigs are my favorite!
  20. Does anyone know the specific dates the TW 4th of July sale runs?
