  1. Symmetrys are great reels for a $100. And there happens to be a nice one for sale on the market right now for a good price. Definitely worth a look.
  2. No experience with lews but I do have a shimano Curado I, along with many E series shimanos and they are absolute quality and have all been issue free.
  3. I have a couple rods I like to fhrow jerkbait a on. Almost always use 10 lb flouro, mainly because that's what I started with and have had success with it. 6'8 MXF St Croix Avid X (favorite) 6'6 MHM St Croix Avid 6'6 MF St Roix Avid all will work, just have to see what works for you the best!
  4. Hard to beat some older shimanos at that price. I suggest citica 200E or curado 200B.
  5. Broken record... The medium will suit you best. I love mine!
  6. Shimano curado I
  7. Ordered two on Friday, should be here Wednesday! I'll post pics when I get them!
  8. For me personally it is a St Croix Avid 7' MF
  9. Thanks everyone! I can't thank you guys enough for all the responses!!
  10. That's exactly what I did. One 6'9 MHF and one 6'10 MHMF. Wish they had some spinning... That's what I really needed, this was more of an impulse. Too good of a deal to pass up. Been looking to try a Fenwick for a while now. Interested to see how it compares to my Arsenal of St Croix avids.
  11. I just ordered two of them myself! Got both shipped to my door for $116! Can't wait to give them a try, not bad for a two brand new rods that retailed for $130 each!
  12. X2! Have both of these reels and they are fantastic!
  13. Seems to me that medium is the consensus. Would there be a benefit to getting an xf over just a fast or vice versa? I am assuming fast action would be more versitile?
  14. Thanks for the responses. I'll have to consider the medium more so now. Just not sure if it will be too overpowered when dropshotting, but I am sure I can adjust my drag.
  15. They do seem like a steal, just not a fan of the reel seat on the rage spinning rods.
  16. Hey everyone. I have been reading many threads on spinning rods in my quest for a new one. I am a coangler and usually only take one spinning rod with me to tournaments. So I am looking for one do all spinning rod. I'm looking in the avid series but am willing to stray from that. Typically if I am using a spinning rod I am either drop shorting (up to 1/4 oz weight) or shakey head/tube, or grub (no heavier than 1/4 oz). So which rod would you choose, kinda have it narrowed down to the 6'9 MLXF or 6'8 MXF, but I am open to other suggestions. Would like to keep it under 200 and I may be open to other options if I can find one at a good price. Your suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks!
  17. I would be intereste in the answer to this as well, I am also looking for something similar. Wish someone would shed some light, considering I can't get my hands on these locally anywhere...
  18. I believe it's the same blank, just a cosmetic facelift. I own both and I believe the avid X feels lighter and more balanced in hand if you ask me. Highly recommended.
  19. I picked up an 6'8 MXF avid X this year and it is amazing, I have had great success fishing jerkbait in it this fall, highly reccommended to step up to the avid line.
  20. Also a shimano fan since day one. First ever reel was an old shimano 2000xt spinning reel when I was 7 years old. Currently I own: 3 citica 200e Chronarch 200e5 Chronarch 200e7 Chronarch 50e Curado 50e Curado I hg Chronarch ci4 hg Caius 200 Stradic ci4+ 2500 2 sienne 2500 Could not be happier, highly recommended, especially the 50 size !!!
  21. What little success I have had this fall, have come off if LC Pointers. I'm with RW, one of my favorite techniques to fish regardless!!!
  22. Defiantly the curado I! Best band for the buck if you ask me.
