  1. McCoy Mean Green. Minimal stretch, abrasion resistant, very supple. Oh and did I meantion very affordable!?!
  2. Hello everyone. As the topic states, my question is on braid backing on baitcasters. I have heard a lot about this from various sources and I was considering trying it on a few of my personal setups; but i need some help/suggestions on it. Like: What size braid do you recommend? How much braid do you spool up before your Mono/Flouro? Which techniques do you use this for, or all of them? Any help and advice will be very much appreciated. I'm a poor college student, so any way i can afford the more expensive flourocarbons without having to fill a whole spool would be nice. Thanks in advance!!
  3. Shimano Chronarch 200e5
  4. Shimano Chronarch 200e7 or Curado 200e7 is perfect... Cheers!
  5. Lets see, owned 4 different quantums once... Needless to say, they have all been sold and only own Shimano's now.... My advice, start with Shimano and you will never have to debate on anything else.
  6. Super Fluke!!!! (White or Pink)
  7. Hello everyone. I was looking for a little advice from those of you who have used both. I currently own a Curado E7 and a Chronarch E7, so i know how they fish... I have not fished with the new Curado yet and I didnt know if it was worth buying the new Curado or just get another Chronarch E. I will most likely be getting it for crankbaits, so it will be in the 5 gear ratio. Thank you in advanced!!!
  8. Great line. Can't go wrong with it. I have 12 lb and 15 lb spooled up on most of my setups.
  9. Thanks a lot guys! I really appreciate the help
  10. Hey everyone, I am headed to Lake Chautauqua in New York this weekend and I have no experience whatsoever there. So, I was wondering if anyone had any experience with this lake or any suggestions for this time of year up there. Thank you in advance!
  11. I would just change the line on your crankbait set up. Put mono on it. and it will work great for both topwaters AND crankbaits. Treble Hooks = Mono ...... IMO
  12. Well, that being said, the 7'2 MH Sellus is a great rod to start with as well. Great all purpose rod. I had one and loved it before i upgraded. Had it paired with a Shimano Caius. It was the perfect rod and reel to learn on. Almost impossible to get a backlash, which would be good for you if you are not out there everyday fishing. If you check ebay you can get the Caius pretty cheap. Once again, that would be a good combo under your budget and I highly reccoment. By the way, I am in college too currently, so i know what is like to fish on a budget and you cant go wrong with that.
  13. Not to sound like a broken record, but I fish them in the same places I would fish a spinnerbait, usually around grass and submerged timber. I prefer them in the spring, to immitated blue gills/bream right around the spawn.
  14. Here is a great combo for beginners.... and a heck of a deal on sale right now. http://www.gandermountain.com/modperl/product/details.cgi?i=611936
  15. Black buzzbait and hold on to the rod tight!!!!
  16. When i fish ponds, I usually use a 1/4 oz SK Bitsy Flip with Zoom Super Chunk Jr. or SK Baby Rage Craw (depending on what the mood the fish are in), fished on 12# Seaguar Flouro. Its a money combination for me in my area.
  17. Pittboss-T-Rigged Devil Spear-Swim Jig/Chatterbait Trailer
  18. Rage Craw, Rage Menace, or R I Skinny Dipper
