not to sound like a broken record... but close quarters fishing. spinnerbait and t-rig specially. I use my 6'9" MH almost specically for flukes and senkos
I'll second on the inferno, great little Rod for about $30. I have the 6'6 m casting model. I use it as a pond Rod due to it being 2 piece. I use it for all my moving baits, spinnerbaits, crankbaits, and topwater. No probles I have encountered yet.
When I pitch around docks I downsize personally. I usually use a shorter rod, 6'10 MHXF is my preference, with a 3/8 oz arky style jig. The arky style really helps me skip further and its a great all around jig in my opinion. As for line, I usually stick to 14-17 lb flouro for the majority of the time. I am no expert but this seems to work for me. Hope this helps!
I have two Shimano Sienne's both in the 2500 size. I absolutely love them. Like you said they run about $30 brand new and they are awesome. super smoothe drag for only $30.
x2. My pitching rod is also a 7'2" MH XF (Shimano Crucial). I really like it. soft tip with lots of backbone. I exclusively use 15-20 lb flouro and it works great. If you plan on throwing braid i would step the action down to a fast-modfast.
