  1. You had quite a whip in your hands. If they started to come at you let them have a good lashing. Go for the face and now Get a CCP.
  2. Fantastic pic's, congrats.. I'm still stuck at 3lbs+ But the seasons early!!
  3. Ok ok... You have SPOKEN!! lol
  4. I won a 22cal Ruger semi auto Ducks unlimited rifle in a skeet match about 20 years ago. I've been buying lottery tickets for years, haven't won once. I won $ for Lunker at three tournaments. I almost caught a beaver Saturday.. no joke. When I was 16 I knew everything, I can't remember any of it. and lastly, My rods are better than yours.
  5. Have you tried Sufix 832? Was wondering what your opinion is on the casting differences are between the to braids ect...? I'm not to happy with Seaguar.
  6. I just started using Sufix 832 braid 65# with an 18" P-Line CX leader 20# or 15# depending on cover. Love it!
  7. G Loomis offers a 6' worm/jig/topwater rod I'm interested in buying. Is anyone out there familiar with it? G. Loomis GL2 Jig and Worm Casting Rod GL2 724C JWR Length: 6' | Line: 14lb-20lb | Lure: 1/4oz-1oz | Power: Heavy | Action: Fast | Handle: A | MPN: 11963-01
  8. My canoe is very stable. The shallow v make a big difference. With the outrigger that cost me 70 bucks to make its like any other good casting platform. As a matter of fact I can walk/stepover to the front of the canoe without issue. That's how stable it is.
  9. That means cabomba in English in case you didn't know.
  10. It's not like holding the grips on a motorcycle at all !!! lol
  11. Sounds like a bum reel to me... I'm not a spinning reel fan to begin with but my nephew is. He uses 20# ProLine braid with a flouro leader on a Fplueger patriarch reel. Never fails him.
  12. I was Jig Fishing, skipping them under over laying trees. I had a monster hit. Pull up on it and felt something seriously heavy. Thought I had it. Then the jig freed. A splt second later I see a big moving object surface quickly. I thought it was a big ticked off bass. It was a beaver. He scrambled quickly onto land through the cover and screwed. I was speechless for a second then LMAO.
  13. I bought 6 more bags of tubes and #3 & 4 Eagle Claw Tube hooks not long ago. I'm using them with a 3/8oz bullet weight pinned to the line at the hook. I was pitching them Saturday. No Luck. I did catch a nice bass with a jig and trailer though.
  14. I just removed 832 braid off a reel that was sent to Mike at DVT for a tuning. I had only used it once. I put an empty line spool on a screw driver shaft and then tie the line to it. Put the screw driver shaft into my portable drill chuck and slowly wound it back onto the spool. Make sure the line comes straight up off the backside of the reel spool. Not through the reel guide. Then guide it with your finger when you start the drill. Keep the tension knob set moderately. Works great. I also use the screwdriver on the drill to remove line. I use the same process but I wind it onto the handle. I can use the same screw driver all the time because the line removes easily buy griping it on each end and pulling. If it sangs a little I just cut it with a scissor. It slides off in big wound clumps. Another thing I do is run all my newly spooled line on my reels out on the lake and then reel them back in. I use a 1/2oz rattle trap with cutoff hooks. The line winds back on the reel spool perfectly. In this pic I used a long bolt and a wing nut to secure the line spool.
  15. THANKS FOR THE INVASION OF PRIVACY UPDATE. If there were concerns about cheating going on they should have had checkers on the water during the tournament. I find this LD action disgraceful. I highly recommend a boycott against SPRO.
  16. He should post a pic.
  17. Good reply ghoti. Check out what Dave Lefeber has to say about jigs. Here's the link: http://www.in-fisher...alks-bass-jigs/ I'm getting very serious about jig fishing. My goal this season is to be able to throw them in any situation. I'm going to want job specific jigs and at least 2 more jig rods and reels to accomplish the goal. I'm interested in learning more about this rod.Has anyone handled this GLoomis rod? G. Loomis GL2 Jig and Worm Casting Rod GL2 724C JWR Length: 6' | Line: 14lb-20lb | Lure: 1/4oz-1oz | Power: Heavy | Action: Fast | Handle: A | MPN: 11963-01 G. Loomis GL2 Jig and Worm Casting Rod GL2 724C JWR Now we're talking short, efficient power stick. When the cover is close and heavy you need a rod that can flick a jig or plastic worm under a bush accurately and pull the bass away from that jungle in a hurry, this is it. It's rated for up to 20-pound test and has more than enough power to handle big baits and big fish. A really good choice for big topwaters around heavy cover.
  18. The XT is a very nice reel. It does well on the St Croix and even better on my Fenwick HMG.
  19. Last summer I asked my daughter if she wanted to go fishing with me on Sunday. She said sure so I went to BP and bought her a Daiwa spin caster reel for 70 bucks and put it on on a rod I had. When we hit the water she never picked it up. Said she wanted yo use one of mine. So I handed her a St Croix Triumph with a Fplueger XT. Long story short she was casting fairly well after 10 minutes. I returned the Daiwa. My wife use to come fishing with me. She would read while I fished. She's into flower gardening so her days out on the water with me are over.
  20. I've never seen an ***. I have 3 Lews rods now and I'm totally satisfied with them. I am interested in the new *** Black with the new cork grip. Looks like a nice rod. I don't like the current versions look at all and I've read the grip is uncomfortable.
