  1. Ok, so you caught bass with some gittyup..
  2. Was the water temp near 40', I'll bet the bass were very weak, not much of a fight?
  3. Wellesley Water Supply.. I don't think you can fish there. Navionics does not show depths or contours.
  4. I have braid on all my reels. I use a CX leader for all moving baits. I usually tie a blood knot or if I'm in the mood an FC. I rely on my rods a lot.. I do not like line that stretches. I spool about a third with backing or not at all. I also reverse the braid when is worn down and use the new side that was spooled and tied to the backing. It's brand new down there, no need to waste it.
  5. I'd still rather be fishing... Plus, its a life long career if you do it right and I don't have to eat swill.
  6. Good to hear... and they should be willing to listen if they want the sell thru. The days of one hit wonders are over. Rods are to task specific and expensive.
  7. This is a video of Glenn with Mike out on the water. Glenn ask's a lot of questions. Many of them from forum members.
  8. I'm in Southern NE.. I start mid depth ( 8') and work my way in looking for a pattern. I'm always looking for cover of some type or another especially on those windy days. If the cover isn't obvious use you depth finder to find it and start fishing. If you don't have a depth finder look for color changes in the water or where the water surface is different from a majority surrounding area. Sometimes a shade line. Parallel the shore to cover more area quicker. Cast toward the sun if its possible. retrieve thru each water column to find bass. Before you know it you will be on them. Once you are, look for similar area's on the lake and fish them.
  9. Take a couple Ibuprofen an hour before you start casting.. Get rods that will do most the work for you. Visit a chiropractor twice a month. You'll be good to go.
  10. I fished some seriously hard conditions last week and got three bass. One was just under five pounds. Spinner baits around pads and sticks and a toad worked for me. All the jigs were off in a big way.
  11. It's not where you live.. This is a problem just about everywhere unless you're close to tackle Warehouse or Academy, ect... . Nothing much to look at it the stores or no stores at all. It's the new miserable thing.
  12. Post a picture!! It's not real without pics.
  13. As I mentioned I'm looking at the IKE series rods Abu Garcia is making. The rods looks great in the pics, not many reviews.. I took a shot and bought one this morning.
  14. I'm confident all the name branded rods out there for sale a great rods. I believe the pro's had a lot to do with some of or all of the design decisions. However, if I were a pro I would have to have rods in my locker that cannot be possibly be sponsored rods. The rod line would be way to big.. On another note the rod's that aren't in the line are most likely made for them by the sponsor rod company more often than not. So yes, I agree with Glenn. On the other hand batson make a great point too.. We need boat deck pictures.
  15. Spoken from the horse's mouth.. I suppose any Beta rod keeps them from the claws of the sponsors.
  16. I ordered the 74-6 this morning. It should be here Late Friday or Saturday morning.
  17. I do agree with you and what appears to be the rating system was my opinion or hope.
  18. The numbers have me convinced too. I'm thinking the 74-6 is a Magnum MH rod. The weight of the 74 compared to the 7 is another indicator. I agree each brand has there own rating system.
  19. $300.00 is a boat load of money for cranking rod.You can get a really nice rod on sale for $100.00-$150.00 Read some reviews on different rods.
  20. Im selling a reel I've used for a couple hours with square bills. After I get the funds for it I'm buying the Ike rod. 6 power works for me as long as it has the tip he claims it has. What makes you so sure it is a 6 power?
