  1. 6+ gets my vote for moving baits 80% of the time most of the year. 7+ for just about everything else. 8+ for pitching heavy cover. Rod gets em up and reel keeps them up! Lews and Daiwa reels.
  2. Im big into toad fishing. Just bought 2 F Xtreme Angler rods. Looking forward to casting them. I don’t have a favorite frog but I do have a favorite toad. The Gambers. I’ve had serious success with both of them. I work them in moderate to heavy cover. Never throw them in open water. After a miss I’ll send a frog out there.. it’s text book.
  3. I’m going to give the Kistler Z-Bone 6’9” medium a try this spring. I’m not a fan of composite or glass rods. To heavy. I’ll be throwing lipless, square bills and smaller bigger bill deeper diving baits.
  4. I can’t find the Limber rods anywhere, sold out in Japan to. I’ll keep looking. Want a heavy for long casting toads in heavy cover. To many misses and shorter casts with the broom sticks out there, they wear me out to. want 3/8-2 + limber.
  5. Please tell me about your Daiwa BLX rods. I’m seriously interested. Can’t find much information online about them. Thx.
  6. Which boat are you fishing out of?
  7. The Lews reels have been good to me for a number of years. still have them. I started buying Shimano 2 years ago.. I found them to be uncomfortable and not much different in casting than the Lews reels. I’ll be selling the Shimano one of these days. Didn’t like them so they didn’t get much use at all. Last season I bought a Steez reel. I have 9 Daiwa reels now. Both Steez and 2021 Zillions. I’m not looking back. They’re the most refined reels available and they’re 100% reliable and repeatable and comfortable. interestingly, the only Shimano I liked was JDM SLX. I’m keeping that one. The Bantam is very nice to look at but it’s heavy.
  8. Will ship in the Kistler wrap and Tube. bought 2 of these rods, only need one. $150.00 plus shipping. Can ship same day. No delay.

  9. I’m happy with my Expride rods as they are. interested in what they are changing. Recently bough 8 Kistler’s. The Japanese Toray blanks are super light. Won’t be able fish with them for a few months. Expride rods I have will stay in the boat, they’re not going anywhere.
  10. Rods arrived, no label showing Made in the USA? Did some searching. Shows the Helium blanks as made in Japan by Toray. I have no idea what I have bought. Anybody have the answer?
  11. Me to, I’m making moves. I have 5-6 Exprides and a few Tatulas that have to go among others. eBay. Switching over to Kistler. Ordered 3 Helium’s today. Sale prices. I’m tempted to order 2 Zbones before it ends.
  12. I just bought a Helium online today. 6’10” 3 power. Haven’t had any time on the rods you asked about or the one I bought. Hit or miss.. nowhere to look anymore.
  13. I just bought the rod, tip feels very wimpy. I’m concerned about hook setting power using with 1/4oz baits. My first NRX.. around shore line fishing in general. the 895c is a broom stick and very very top heaven. Going to send it back and exchange for the 894c. live and learn!
  14. The NRX+ 7’5” was 5.5 oz. not bad at all but the rod is extremely tip heavy. ?? Both my Expride and Daiwa 7’6” rods are as light or lighter and they balance perfectly.
  15. Have you used that 852 with a wacky or stick bait around docks? does it cast well? Is there enough back bone for hook set power?
  16. I have 3 of the new Zillions, love the reels. Waiting for the HD release. Will buy 2 maybe 3.
  17. The Expride is tough to beat. I have 5 of them. NRX+ rods arrived. I wasn’t impressed. The weights were much higher than advertised and very tip heavy. Emailed for a RMA. Disappointed.
  18. I just purchased two NRX+ rods from ***. They gave me a discount. Nice! Daiwa rods were totally out of stock. Bought the 7’1” medium extra fast and the 7’5” heavy fast. Happy to know they have the Ci4 reel seat which is my favorite. The MBR rods were not in stock. I’m interested as well, still interested in the Daiwa rods! Opinions appreciated. Can I get a link to Sierra please!!!
  19. Information need on the Daiwa BLX and the GLoomis NRX+ I’m considering both, price does come into play. I have heard there are deals around on the GLX+. Would still be higher priced than the Daiwa. looking forward to hearing your experiences with these rods. Thank you.
  20. Wanted a War Eagle, Difficult to order and get a delivery date. Went to BP for some baits, saw a 2022 Grizzly. Sales guy said it had just arrived. Made one call to my local dealer to ask about ordering a G3. his words, buy the Grizzly. 2022 G3 boats are sold out for the year. He also reassured me the 1754 was a good boat. Boats in my garage now. I have one problem…. The Garmin Panoptix has been a nightmare. Transducer connection failures over and over again. I called Garmin customer service. Answered all the questions. They admitted there were some problems and are over night shipping me a completely new system. excellent service. The Grizzly has been outstanding. No complaints at all but, I’d still would rather have been able to buy the War Eagle. Good luck finding the new boat you’re after. Minn Kota Ultrex is Bullet proof!

  21. no option for the US2 I think you may be correct, I’ve tried 2D. No luck. I have a new back up cable. I’ll try that first. Thank you all for your support, I appreciate.
  22. on sonar settings I have to choose which transducer. Not sure which to choose. The choices I’ve made aren’t working. I know the Ultrex transducer is only going to work for traditional 2D sonar. Down scan will not work.
  23. I’m told the built in transducer is the US2. Not on the transducer list. I believe it’s a 2D for traditional sonar. I’ve been unlucky trying to connect. Help! Thanks,
