  3. Minn kota endura c2 55lb thrust $208-$212 depending on shaft size. http://www.amazon.com/Minn-Kota-Freshwater-Transom-Trolling/dp/B0042TIIRW/ref=sr_1_2?s=sporting-goods&ie=UTF8&qid=1426948342&sr=1-2&keywords=minn+kota+endura+c2
  4. Woops.... Was on amazon.... ordered the okuma, cardiff, and then picked up a minn kota 55lb thrust.... lmao Signed up for amazon card and got $30 off, then used amazon store card i already had and got 6 months free financing, and minn kota has 20$ mail in rebate offer currently... so around 400$ total for everything ah well its worth it right??
  5. Ahh great! Thats exactly what I NEEDED to know! thanks!
  6. Sooo seeing as how I know very little about bait casting reels.... Why the shimano cardif? Why a round reel compared to like a abu garcia revo? I found a revo winch display model going for pretty cheap. But want to make sure I get the right reel. Is the rounder shimano meant for bigger fish or?
  7. woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooow
  8. Where are you 2 catching these 11-12lb personal best bass at?! lol
  9. Yea just found that same price on fishusa.com! Thanks! Wife is gonna kill me....lol!
  10. Yea every where I have looked people have said 7'6 okuma! But never put a model number or any other identifiers haha. Hey would that rod work for stripers as well?? Then maybe I could justify is to my wife..... lol! None on ebay....and it looks like $139 on tackle-warehouse. What about a revo winch reel? Found one going for cheap on ebay....
  11. Well I just want to see how I like these swimbaits before I go an buy a dedicated rig ya know? My worry with what I currently have was just that with the 3oz bait will it break the rod tip? Ahh yea I have read a ton of people saying the Okuma! I will have to look into that! Do you by any chance know the model number for that specific rod? Appreciate the feedback!
  12. So I ordered 2 savage line throu trout 6" swimbaits and 1 8" after watching this video Just looked so real to me! First swimbaits I will be trying Now the 6" are 1oz and 1 1/4oz. While the 8" is 3 1/3oz So I do not really want to buy a new rod if I don't have to... I have a couple rods I am thinking might work for the little guys. I have an Abu Garcia black max/vengance combo, MH rated for 1/4-1oz so this should work for the 6" guys. What about throwing the 8" on this? I only paid $50 for this setup so if its not necessarily good for it but will work then that is fine with me. Or I have an ugly stick gx2 7' MH rated for 1/4-5/8oz. Both of these rods are seen to me as disposable. The abu baitcaster was just a cheap setup so I could see how I liked bait casting. Have always been a spin casting guy. So I am thinking the Abu would be a better choice for the 8" I know that is over loading it but if I am gentle with it on the casts will it be alright? If you think it will just destroy the rod/reel pretty quickly what is a decent swimbait setup? Would like to keep it as cheap as possible. Would like to not go over $200 max. $100 or $150 would be ideal.
  13. Straight from pflueger "CARE AND LUBRICATION Your new Pflueger spinning reel is designed to provide years of dependable service, but as with all precision instruments, some care is required. Periodically use a light machine oil to lubricate the line roller, the main shaft where it comes out of the reel, and all moving parts of the bail and handle. Remove the spool and gently wash it and the rest of the reel with fresh water. Dry it thoroughly with a soft cloth. At least once a year (more often if you use your reel frequently), remove the handle and reel side plate to clean the exposed parts. Use hot water first and then a non-flammable solvent. Dry with a cloth and then grease the gears, bearings and other moving parts. After fishing in saltwater, or if the reel is accidentally dropped in sand, rinse the reel with fresh water and remove all salt deposits and/or sand particles."
  14. So was wondering if there is any maintenance I should do to my reels over the winter. I have a pflueger supreme xt that I wanna make sure to take good care of. And a few other spinnnig reels and 1 bait caster(abu garcia vengance combo). So do I just need to get some reel gear grease? (what brand?) And I read maybe there a different grease for the bearings? Have never lubed a reel before so gimmie some good details about this!
  15. Got the fenwick basstech elite. WOW! What a gorgeous rod! Can't wait to get out and test it out.
  16. Yea after reading all the reviews, and watching some youtube videos. Really likes come of the features. And people rave about these rods. Really liked the fact that they have the hidden handle design! And for $120 with the 20% off I was sold!
  17. Dicks sporting goods has a 20% off everything sale going on now. Was able to pick up the Fenwick Elite Tech Bass 7' MHF 2 pice for $120! Rear a bunch of reviews about it and people seem pretty happy with it! Thanks for all the info everyone!
  18. Fenwick elite tech bass MODEL # ETB70MH-FS-2 MH Fast 7' 2 piece. Sounds nice. Only $150
  19. Mainly because I keep my rod in a cardboard tube to protect it in the trunk of my car. I just leave it in the trunk so if I ever happen apon a fishing spot I can just go. I hate having my 1 piece casting rod sticking up through middle of bmw. The end of it is on my arm wrest! AHHH! Dobyns Savy you say?
  20. AXS70MF2 7' 2 piece MF Avid. ?? 210 but if i can get black friday discount. might be doable haha
  21. Ahh. I mean it will fit. But is just a pain. I leave my pole in a tube in the truck most of the time. So kinda wanna stick with that. haha
  22. That looks nice. But its a 1 piece rod. I put rods in car a LOT so 2 piece is kinda necessary... :/
  23. Hmm. Where would I find one of these "gently used" rods? haha
  24. Girl friend wants to get me a new rod for xmas. I currently have a st croix triumph 6'6 MF I have a Pflueger Supreme XT reel that I want to switch over to the new rod. I am thinking St. Croix premiere spinning 7' HF 2 piece. I mostly fish for large mouth. Is a heavy rod overkill? Senko texas rigged Should I stick with medium strength? I do fish a lot of weedy areas, so thought stronger rod with heavy line would help me get the fish out of the weed cover. If anyone has thoughts or wants to throw out a rod they think is better let me hear it! Must be 2 piece rod! Price needs to be around $150
  25. Looks great! Where did you have it done? Also how much does it cost??
