  1. Gaston is awesome. My girls parents have a house on pea hill so thats the creek I stay in mainly. Plenty of docks and grassy points. I got my personal best there last year on the 4th of July.
  2. Hit Gaston for a four day weekend on Pea Hill Creek. Ended up with 15 bass, I mainly fished between six and noon. I was trying to get off the water before the boat traffic got too terrible. Got fish on wacky rigged yum dingers, kvd squarebills, rapala xraps and the junebug zoom ol monster produced the two biggest bass at 4 lbs and 4.2 lbs. Also saw Rick Morris from the Elite series running a charter right outside the same cove my girlfriend and I were fishing. That was pretty cool.
  3. Crappie nibbles weightless on the smallest hook you can find. Peel off 10 or 12 foot of line on a 5 or 6 foot ultralight and swing it out there. Watch it drop, the line will jump if a bream picks it up, if not pull it up and cast again. Really fun for fishing bream bed honeycombs.
  4. The pond has about 6 to 8 inches of visibility, Ive been here since November and it never seems to clear up. Seems pretty muddy to me.
  5. I got my third bass from my new pond yesterday. Probably around 3.5 pounds, not the best picture. On a black and blue jig with a black and blue paca chunk trailer.
  6. Today I was pitching a black and blue jig with a paca chunk trailer close to shore and had a big bass on for about 10 seconds. I appreciate the help everybody!
  7. I just bought a house on a pond and the water is a lot muddier than the water in the pond behind the house I used to live in. Ive stuck a tape measure in the water and I have only got about 6 to 8 inches of visibility. Ive heard there are large carp in it (Ive heard they contribute to muddy water?) and the waters max depth is about 10 feet. Any suggestions on how I should be fishing it and what lures or color selection I should stick with? Any help would be appreciated.
  8. Chesapeake, I fish back bay, gaston, the suffolk lakes and I pond hop around deep creek and greenbrier also once or twice a year I hit briery creek. When Im not trying to catch bass Im trying to catch puppy drum and trout in the elizabeth river.
  9. I mainly fish Gaston but I plan on hitting cohoon and meade more often in the future. Last time I hit cohoon we got around 12 or 14 bass the biggest one went 5 lbs, all on junebug zoom lizards and chartreuse spinnerbaits.
