  1. I was actually read this article in BM last night I THINK it's called zodiak or something like that - if memory serves correct.
  2. I have the 893C adn am a huge T-Rig fan and use it for that as well as 1/4 & primarily 3/8oz jigs. I haven't throw 1/2oz so I can't comment on that, but to me that might be pushing the upper range. I got it later in the season last year so I haven't had too much time with it but it's a heck of a stick. I don't mind/notice the extra length but it is something to consider. I've also used it for weightless senkos and Ikas and it preformed great. I can't speak on flukes/soft jerks but see no problems. Mine is paired with a Core 50 and it is a sweet combo. The rod really is on another level and whatever one you choose I know you will be happy. Matt
  3. Thank you to all that responded. I appreciate your knowledge.
  4. I am looking to get more into topwater baits this year specifically poppers and cigar/walking type baits. I do pretty well with buzzbaits, although I can certainly improve there as well. My question is what type of knots do you like for these 2 presentations? My poppers (all 2 of them) don't have split rings so is a loop knot beneficial here or no? I tie a San Diego Jam knot for nearly everything. Same question regarding cigar/walking baits? Thanks, Matt
  5. Any of these - I just made a purchase from digitaka and had a great experience. Plan on doing more business from them in the future.
  6. I actually just learned that yesterday - didn't know. Curious as to why that is, the foam ones don't have to be worn at all times, but those do?
  7. Thanks for all the info - see it didn't even occur to me about the potential of the auto going off in the rain. However, also a great point about getting knocked unconscious.
  8. I am looking to purchase my first life jacket. I see the prices range from ~$100-300+. What are some things I should look for when purchasing a vest. Any brands that are known for good quality or ones to stay away from. Anything else I should know. Open to suggestions on ones you have been pleased with. Thanks, Matt
  9. I was wondering about these as well, the Howellers I assume you are talking about? Wonder what the battery life is on those things? You would think that any small crank water would fry the circuit board.
  10. Happy Birthday! Thanks to you and all the mods for making this such a great site.
  11. Some responses from a thread not to long ago. http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/149908-keitech-salty-core-stick/?hl=%2Bkeitech+%2Bcore
  12. aaaaaaand no one likes you
  13. I use a 2500 for those techniques, it works great for all my bass fishing needs. The 2500 should be a little lighter as well.
  14. It was on the inside cover of In-Fisherman last issue or the issue before. Just said coming this February if my memory serves me correct.
  15. Anyone throw this? The action in the video looks great - but for $23..... Just curious. Matt
  16. While I am probably a few years away from affording a trip like this - I can live through you and Jeff until then.
  17. Thanks for all the information I'll certainly look into some if the recommendations.
  18. I am looking to protect my rods and have been looking into rod covers/sleeves and there are about 50 different vendors. I saw TW carries a couple, but in my search found a company called Rod Condom, while I'm not sure if I want rod condom on all my rods - it is veteran owned and if the quality is there would prefer to support a company like that. What brand does everyone use and how have been your experiences? Also, do micro guides make a difference? Matt
  19. I've been looking forward to using the mojo rig in grassy areas around me next year. Bassresource has a great video on their YouTube channel.
  20. Dude, pick up that penny.
  21. My first rod an inshore ugly stick and pflueger president spinning reel I used for about a year and a half. I used 20lb braid the entire time for EVERYTHING. I would think that using the ned rig or even mojo rig it would hinder the action - but tying on an 8lb leader or something could help.
  22. This a top 3 favorite bait of mine, always have some with me. I also love the Live Impact Worm in Blue Gill. The new Crazy Flappers have my interest peaked, from the videos the legs go crazy.
  23. Ok, thanks. The setting the correct drag seems to be key. A lot of the bad reviews are of people breaking off, which could be possibly from having the drag set too tight. Thanks.
  24. I am a huge fan of sunline specifically sniper FC and am looking for a cranking line. I've read very mixed reviews on the reaction FC. Any thoughts on it from people who have used it. I was looking at 10 or 12lb test. Thanks.
