I want to start throwing these, along with the horny toad.
As far as hooks - I was looking at the Owner TwistLock Open Gap Centering Pin Hook in the 5/0 or 6/0.
What rod do you like to throw these with, frog rod? Line - braid?
Thoughts or any other recommendations.
Thanks,
Matt
You don't need anything special - you are already catching fish so you're set! I would look to try and find a local bass club and join them. As for tournament day, fish what you are confident in.
Good luck!
From what I've read it cast like a dream. Again, you are correct that its breaking strength is rated pretty accurate as compared to Yo Zuri which is much higher than the rating.
Awesome thanks for the reply. You are correct I am talked about the Green as well. Glad to hear you like it so much for trebles because that is what I plan on using it for. I was hoping to use it for 1/4-3/8 traps, 1.5s and other square bills, then also poppers and walking style baits.
It sure is expensive but I use cheap mono backing so yes I would plan to get 3 spools out of it.
I had a few questions about this line. I have never used a Co-poly line before. I know there are some differences depending on each line.
1) So does anyone know if this line floats or sink?
2) How is the sensitivity compared to fluorocarbon?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Matt
All of your in stock items should ship 2 day tomorrow and anything besides the sunfish on back order will wait until the remaining if any items are all in stock.
Awesome fish A-Jay! Thanks for the information, most of what I've read seems like you said as a early or late bait. But with everything fishing not the rule.
This is a tactic I have yet to use. Looking for information on when are the best times of year to throw, depths, cover, etc. Is it only a cold water lure?
I like the looks of this bait - Lucky Craft ILV 50 Blade Bait
Thanks - Matt
Just curious as to when one might use a swing jig over a T-Rig. I know there isn't a set rule, but in what situations might it be more productive? I would think one would throw them in similar situations.

I JUST purchased a MB XX Perfect Pitch, mostly it will be used for flipping/pitching as well as frogs. But I bought the bull shad, a 7" ms slammer as well as a 168 s-glide. But the bull shad is the only one that will be here this week. I know it's not a true swimbait rod but I am so new to swimbaits it will do for now. Looking forward to trying them out.
So I just purchased my first 'expensive' Swimbait a 5" bull shad. I know it's not a deps 250, but it's still pricey. I'm really excited to throw it - I know I will have to be patient and stay with it, but hopefully good things will come.
Now I know if I want to succeed at fishing these baits I can't be scared of loosing it but do you guys that throw these baits regularly worry about it - even if it's only in the back of your mind.

This Spring I purchased the Frabill F4 suit and love it. Keeps me dry even in all day rain (as to be expected). Light weight enough for all year use - obviously I layer like crazy in late fall and early spring. Time will tell how it holds up but so far very please with the purchase.
