  1. I did indeed, thank you. You should be receiving yours later this week!
  2. Will, love that picture of that bluegill!!!
  3. So this year I really made an attempt, especially since late summer on, to improve and use jerkbaits more. I feel I have been moderately successful. I primarily use LC 78 & 100 and MB 110 & 110Jr. I also purchased some Yo-Zuri 3DB from a friends recommendation and a few Duo and Ima Flints. At the TW black Friday sale I bought a McStick 95 in Old Glory - great lipless bait color. But never hear/read to much about them. Anyone use them and if so how do they preform for you. They suspend well? Thanks!
  4. Looking forward to seeing everyones stuff. Still holding out till Christmas (for now).
  5. Well in received my package today, but I'll be waiting till Christmas to open it!
  6. While it was a long road, I am a warrior and hopefully put together a nice package. Will be sending later today.
  7. Same here my friend, however, i'd 'settle' for the ones in FL as well.
  8. I am no help on that particular rod. I do fish a MHXF for all my T-Rig from 1/16-3/8oz bullet weights as well as 1/4-3/8oz bottom contact jigs. Other than super heavy pads/grass I find it works great.
  9. I currently own all Shimano products other than my first Pflueger President Spinning Reel which is now my wife's (a heck of a reel for the price). I don't know why, when I bought my first baitcaster and everything since, went Shimano, but I couldn't be more pleased. I feel this falls into a few categories. Ford vs Chevy. Is one actually better than the other?? Who knows. I know some people if they have one bad experience with a product will bash it and never buy a product from then again, which is their right. Were they in a house that always used product x and so they do as well? Did they find a good deal on one and it treated them well and never looked back. I own 7 Shimano reels now I cannot speak on these long term as most are only 6-18 months old, but other than a small issue on its first outing in 28 degree weather with the Rarenium (which was fine the next day). I couldn't be happier and look forward to having these reels a LONG time. They are super smooth and reliable. I will say I do have my eye on a Daiwa TD-Z Ito 103 for my rod I just picked up last month - why, simply because I want to try a Daiwa and see how they preform. My next spinning reel will be a Daiwa Certate. If Dwight owns 5 and calls it the poor mans Stella - how can I not.
  10. Dwight you catch such small fish - why even take pictures....
  11. Bought one about a month ago, used it once so far with no success but all they would eat that day was cranks anyways. Got it tired on for a small trip this afternoon. Hopefully she comes home with some scuff marks.
  12. While I don't have anything yet. I am thinking the father-in-law and I might build a display case this winter. Something for my old/rare lures. But also the lure that caught my son's first fish and the one my wife caught a 5+lber on. Things like that.
  13. I use 2 in most cases: Owner Shakey Ultrahead or the Owner Ultrahead Bullet Rig (smaller worms).
  14. I only have the 90 size and while I actually really like it, I do agree that it isn't my first choice in choppy water. But it certainly has caught some fish for me!
  15. I am in the boat where if it works for you, then fish it and succeed. Not everyone likes the same stiffness, length, or whatever for various applications. So try it out and see how you like it and go from there. Me personally, I use a MHXF for my T-Rig and Jigs (under 3/8oz jigs or bullet weight). I use this rod in open water, pitching to wood, outside grass lines, sparse pads, etc. I do own another rod I use for thick mats, heavy pads, etc and it is a XH. I try to use my MH whenever possible and where I fish is most of the time. Matt
  16. Next spring I am hoping to get up to fish that outstanding fishery that you and Steve know so well. Maybe grab a 5lb smallie or 2!!!! Matt
  17. It still amazes me that a 18"+ fish eats those small baits, but can see them. Truly awesome. Matt
  18. While I have only fished the 893 I throw 3/8oz jigs all time on it. Hadles it flawlessly. I really only fish 1/4-3/8oz jigs, but I do throw it to wood quite a bit and never have any issues. Matt
  19. My first Loomis was an IMX 844 - super sensitive and all around awesome rod. Then since I fish a ton of bottom contact stuff - t-rig, jigs, etc I bought a NRX 893C - HOLY SMOKES - its magic! Then a few months later a bought a NRX 852S for Shakey head, drop shot, etc. Love it. Somewhere in the middle I also bought a GLX 855C which I use for heavier crankbaits, lipless cranks over a 1/2oz, and just recently have liked it for chatterbaits. I also want to throw larger topwater baits on it next year. I own a 783C which I primarily use for spinnerbaits and simjigs - I used to use for chatterbaits as well but I found it a little under powered for my liking. The 783 is a great all around rod, I really have thrown everything on it at one point or another - trig, jigs, lipless cranks, etc... If you are using it for an application that requires great sensitivity then get the best rod you can afford. That's just my opinion. Matt
  20. Thank you. I added a Bluegill to my order.
  21. The original spiders do go for top dollar on forums. Matt
  22. Very interesting indeed, I've only used the TRDs and have certainly been successful. But I may give the ZinkerZ a try. Matt
  23. They haven't been eating plastics for me other than the NED rig. It's either been Jerkabaits or a slower moving squarebill.
  24. I like that thinking. Glad its a rainy Monday at work....
  25. While I can't compare to inviz x as I haven't used it. While prefishing for a tournament I got hung up and pretty much was left with nothing, my boater had a bulk spool of 15 and I spooled it up. Used it that weekend and took it off when I got home. It was to wirey for my liking. Also, I thought it was a little stiff. I only used it for 2 days so I didn't give it a completely fair chance, but I won't be buying any. But that's all he uses and seems to like it, so to each their own. Sniper IMHO is hard to beat. Matt
